Live From Doha...It's the World 9-Ball Championship
I'm here in Qatar working as the press officer for the WPA. The Qatar Billiards And snooker Federation is in charge of this event. They are relatively new to this so they are getting their act together. From what I've seen in the last day, they are doing a fine job and we are trying to coach them into making it even better.
The event will be broadcast on Al Kass TV from the last 32 on. ON Al Kass' website, they stream their broadcasts. So did you get that? That means that you can go right to the Al Kass site and watch the World 9-ball championship. Or so I'm told.

I believe that it is the correct site. Yesterday a guy from the Federation showed me his Iphone and it was live streaming a soccer match on Al Kass TV. I will try to have more information today because we really want this to get out to as wide an audience as possible. We are even discussing doing the commentary in English as right now, it will definitely be done in Arabic. I was told they have some mics set up for us to do it in English.
In the meantime, while we sort all of this out in this molten blazing hot kingdom, if you want the real story of what's happening at the World 9-ball Championship visit our new and improved site at www.wpa-pool.com.
Here's a link to my latest story: http://www.wpa-pool.com/web/index.asp?id=17&pagetype=event_news&eventid=32&eventnewsid=58
I'll be writing several articles each day throughout the event so you are guaranteed to get the real low down on what's happening here.
Another great way to keep up to day is via our Twitter page. Yes, the World Pool Association is now on Twitter. Our Twitter user name is @poolwpa. You can go directly to our Twitter page at, http://twitter.com/poolwpa.
I am personally manning this Twitter account and I promise you it will be entertaining and informative. Check it out!
