WPC - Last 64

Matches

SJM - Have to disagree with you. I don't see Mika or Ronnie making final 8.
I think at least 1 Taiwanese will, if not 2. Oi from Japan could be there too.

Oi plays Ralf today - will be a real interesting match.
Stepanov has been playing so good, and will have to today playing Efren.
Shane and Gabica will be a great match.
I am rooting for Lely to beat Gomez.
The Aussie Delahunty will have his hands full with Chao. Chao broke great against Archer.
If Karl Boyes wants to get on the map, he has to show us something, and he can start with Sandor Tot today.
Fabio Petroni gets tested today against Chia Ching Wu.

2 guys not to overlook for final 16, and maybe final 8, at least 1 of them,
are Tony Drago or Oliver Ortmann.

sjm...Just curious why you didn't figure Shane to make it that far. Is he in your 'top 16'?

The prediction game is usually pretty embarassing, but I'll take a shot, just to get the ball rolling:

Last 4
Ronnie Alcano, Marlon Manalo, Dennis Orcullo, Corey Deuel

Last 2
Ronnie Alcano, Dennis Orcullo

Winner
Dennis Orcullo

Question is, is the lack of Shane coverage intentional. I think they are scared of him. Interesting...

Okay, could be that I'm just losing it.

Because personalities in TV matches have been determined a long time ago before Shane won the US Open. It's not bias or anything just scheduling. Any match with Alcano, Reyes, Pagulayan, Yang, Chao, Archer and Strickland are always a TV match up.

If Shane happened to be big before the US Open, he would have been a TV match up choice.

Why is SVB not on TV? Its because beyond pool junkies who follow pool happenings in the US, SVB is somewhat of an unknown. Remember the odds on SVB not too long ago 40-1? Earl is on TV because his many World championships and US open titles have earned him this spot and certainly not his attitude. His antics though will undo all this, unfortunately.

SVB was on tv against that taiwanese dude. he was nervous and so was his opponent. thankfully he won that cushion match.

He played two and was on tv twice! Not a bad record!

Bump to the top

Earl lost. Alex won, meets Louis Condo next.

(Want to keep this on top since it has the whole list of last 64 players).

Alcano and Peach, 2-2. Ronnie is playing smooth and confident. Breaking from right side this year.

Yang just lost to Kawabata 3-10. Another disappointing WPC for Yang.

I wonder if Yang and Orcullo would gamble again, considering they're both out of the tournament. ;)

So much for Manalo and Dennis.

I'm rooting for Django!!

he misses the 7 ball, I think he's playing with a new cue stick. I bet he'll change it when he come back to the table, check it out.
