I was thinking of having tennis racket wrap put on a cue being made. the good rubber stuff. it also comes in many colors.
question is: has anyone ever tried it?

Don't know about a cue, but wilson pro overgrip is awesome on my tennis racquet. Better than anything else I've tried. :)

i use a tennis grip on my break cue. Eventually the wrap wears out and needs to be replaced. But it can be easily done.

In terms of using a more permanent grip and not an over wrap. Keep in mind the thickness is dependent on how tight you pull the wrap.

with tennis grips the over grips aren't close to as durable as a replacement grip but a replacement grip is probably close to 1/8 of an inch thick and usually have sticky tape on the entire backside that would leave marks if u ever took it off, other than looking funny and maybe too big to fit back in your case they'd be great

i've never put 1 on a cue i like no wrap but for over grips what-a-grip would work the best, they're nice grips but they're stretched when put on and once u get 1 lil hole/tear in it the grip is done

if u sweat really bad and nothing else works i'd check out a gamma hi tech grip, slightly sticky/tacky they're very nice and durable but you'd have to put it on right and deal with the thickness of it even though it's a thinner type of replacement grip

Another good wrap is one used on a Miken Ultra 2 softball bat. It's basically the same material from which basketballs are made

I've done this using vetwrap. Its like the ace bandages but thinner and disposable. I have a bunch of sneaky petes and the butts are different sizes. So I use vetwrap to mark off the section where I'm suppose to hold.

Pretty much every top 3-cushion player in the world uses a rubber wrap. I'm surprised that they aren't standard on break cues. They make it so you don't have to grip as hard on power shots.

Does the top cue in this pic have what you are looking to try?
