How sweaty are you guys' hands? Good Lord. If my hands get a little sweaty they get stickier, if anything. I can't imagine my hands sweating so much the cue would slip. Do me a favor if we ever meet - don't shake my hand.

Strength when wet: Not a problem if you don't have anything to begin with.

For me, wrap choices have a lot to do with playing conditions with regard to climate control or lack thereof within the playing area.
If a room is too humid in summer or the temperature rises into the mid 70s in a heated environment - my hands sweat too much for either wrapless or leather wrapped cues. Linen wraps work best for me in these more extremes of inside humidity or heat.
In a well air conditioned environment or a heated room between say 66 to low 70s - I do well with a cue with just about any wrap surface or wrapless cues.
I never tried a cork wrap but I think that I would like it for any indoor climate situation.

If I were going to try a wrapped cue, I would probably go with cork...

In all honesty I enjoy playing with both styles wrapped and wrap less , it depends on my mood and in some cases how I'm playing I normally start with a wrapped cue for playing the game but wrap less for breaking .
One my one wrap less cue there's beauty rings on,each end where the wrap would start and finish which I guess I also use for a reference point or sorts .
The bottom line is which ever you're the most comfortable with that's the one to use .

Almost all of my cues have been wrapless. It doesn't slide in the hand like an irish linen wrap, as others mentioned. And it looks a lot better, imo.

My very first cue was a mid 90's Meucci that had a clear finish over the wrap. haha.

My current cue is a Predator that has some sort of rubber faux wrap on it. I actually like that one a lot, it doesn't slip, and it looks good.

My Schon SP is smooth leather and my DZ very very lightly textured, both flush with the adjoining shaft. Both really nice.

I switched from wrapped McDermott to a wrapped Meucci with lacquer over the wrap. I haven't experienced any negatives and I still have the look of the wrap. Also, the the wrap should last so much longer.

I usually shoot wrapless, but I keep a cue with a wrap in my bag just in case of humidity.

How many people use wrapless cues versus linen or leather? I’m wondering what the advantages are for wrapless.

Zero advantage for playing but I use the wrap as guide for grip placement....about a fist from the beginning of the wrap.

There is no advantage to it. Purely personal preference

one reason to go wrapless is aesthetics, you get more space to use nice woods or inlay/ring work.
second reason is that some people due to height, cue length, stance and bridge length sometimes grip the butt at the back end of the cue behind the wrap so it's unnecessary. This also the reason that some cues started to put the wrap further back towards the butt cup.
I have a few wrapless cues and when I got my last one over 15 years ago, it was kind of a preference for me for a while.
For some reason, today I prefer a cue with a wrap, I also nowadays prefer Irish linen over leather, though I understand that there is an issue to get a good quality linen these days....
But I'll definitely go wrapless over all these sports grip and fake leather grips

I have a wrapless Scruggs that I enjoy, but I’m fond of my leather wrap cues as well. If I had to choose one, I’d choose leather as it is my preference

I played with both wrap and wrap less. I gravitate toward wrap less because I feel it being more secured in my hand. The feedbacks are better. The wrapped cues provide some cushion that gives a more dampened sound and feels but I dont like that
