Wrapless Titleist Conversion - True Hoppe - Mike Webb

Excuse me, but this is a "conversion" and NOT a "restoration" which by it's very nature means the blank is cut in a way to move the points up closer to where the joint will be and also allow for the addition of a Hoppe ring. Then it is turned down to size. The original 1-piece Titlist does NOT have the Hoppe ring. That came later, when it was added to the 2-piece Hoppe Professional...which IS leather wrapped. JMHO but I believe the leather wrap enhances the beauty of the cue and also the price. Herman Rambow thought so too...as did George Balabushka , Frank Paradise, Eugene Balner, Gus Szamboti, Paul Drexler, and numerous other cue makers over the years.
Now if any of those cuemakers were selling a unwrapped conversion, the price would be warranted. Mike Webb is NOT in their league yet!
I actually wonder how much he sold that cue to Tank for...since he himself said in another thread that Tank was WAY overpricing the cue!

You are a Idiot it was conversion/restoration
It was a 2 piece cue with no brass or steel joint
The joint was a Wood to Wood
And FYI paradise and Balabushka did not make there own blanks

Mike gets $700 for the conversion if he dose one for you plus the blank that you will have to supply
but i wish you good luck finding one that is
A) straight
B)fat enough at the 291/2" mark to be a wrapless cue
C) those blanks demand a premium price $400-$500
It doesn't matter what someone paid for the cue its all what the market will bare
Get your facts right >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

LOL @ the jerkoffs that are downing this cue for having no wrap... if you think that detracts from the value, you're sorely mistaken. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to find a blank that you can actually use without needing to cut a handle or add another piece of wood to? Damn near impossible....

Nice cue. I will say that for that price it should have two shafts, but should sell for $1100ish...

I did not "Down" the cue for not having a leather wrap. My preference is leather wraps on a Titlist or most cues for that matter. If you think I'm a jerk-off for stating what I like as well as an extra shaft, then so be it. I never commented on price or value, it was a non issue for me as opposed to your opinion.

It was just a comment, that's it. No need to get uppity cause you got starch in your shorts. Its a nice cue as I said and here's a bump for the OP as I said before.

Grow up and QUIT with the name calling!!!

Read again...I SAID it WAS a conversion and NOT a restoration! There is a difference between the two!

The fact is if the conversion was made from a blank and not an already turned one-piece titlist...it WOULD have been oversized and certainly fat enough to make into a wrapless cue! It's not my facts that are messed up...it's YOUR terminology. A "titlist blank" is UNTURNED!

Sorry, I had to laugh at this: "And FYI paradise and Balabushka did not make there own blanks" No kidding! It wouldn't be a titlist conversion if they did now would it?

Look I made the man an offer. If he doesn't like it, fine...all this other BS is NOT necessary!

FYI, I already own 5 untouched titlist cues, a couple of Master Strokes, a few 26 1/2's, and several conversions....but I WANT more! If he doesn't want to sell or trade this cue, I'm sure I will find some elsewhere!

If you make an obscenely low offer - you're a jerkoff....
If you try to spew your inaccurate opinions as "fact" - you're a jerkoff....
If you don't know what you're talking about but insist you do anyways - you're a jerkoff....

Sorry, but if you don't like the guy's add or price, then simply don't comment. It's worth what someone is willing to pay, not what you think it's worth to you....

Good luck with the sale. Nice cue.

So I guess these forums are now officially for bashing. I saw the way YOU treated Balabushka Lady! The only thing OBSCENE in this forum is YOU!

I missed some good stuff I see. Some good info, some bad. etc etc.

All I can say is that the guy who says Mike Webb isn't in some cuemakers league, hasn't seen this baby in person. EVERYTHING about this cue was done right and it just oooozes class

Today seems like a great day for someone to make me a realistic offer and add this beauty to their collection. You won't be disappointed here folks

With all due respect to everyone, this is one of the nicest blanks with exceptional wood grain, I personally have ever seen. As far as Tank and myself, It's no ones business, As far as a post by me saying Tank was over pricing it, SHOW THE Post. As for the Blue Book, it's just a guide line on cues in general, Nothing in stone and usually no progressions mentioned from what I have noticed in my brief readings of it. For some of the older Cue makers mentioned of yesteryear which I have a great deal of respect for, A few of them would have a slim chance of surviving in today's standards of cue making. To the O.P., Best of luck with your sale.

Cheese and Rice!!! Why is it soooo freakin' difficult to follow the forums rules???!!!!! YOU DO NOT MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS CONCERNING PRICING IN AN ACTIVE FOR SALE THREAD...PERIOD!!!

Actually, unless you have information as to misrepresentation of the item for sale...you make no negative comments at all. It is the OP's ad, his cue, and his pricing...it is what it is. Get over it!!

If you feel compelled to discuss the definition between a Titlist conversion and a Titlist restoration...oh, and lest I forget...a Titlist 'blank'...knock yourself out!!....in another thread, perhaps of your own posting. Leave the For Sale threads alone....or I will sic Mr Wilson on you. :thud:

DrOne Pocket...I was just talking the MrMike today about this very cue. :yeah: I told him that it was the only cue currently for sale on AZ that I really wished I had the funds to acquire. I only own wrapless full splice cues, and would had snapped this one up in a minute, if I could. The timing is just really lousy with me right now, sadly.

Here's the deal....Mike just really doesn't do the Titlists...they're kinda a PITA most times. I am hearing more and more from makers that they would really rather not convert a Titlist. At any rate, Tank talked Mike into it and the result is a very rare and gorgeous, tastefully done, wrapless Mike Webb Titlist conversion cue with nice bright veneers and a properly done Hoppe bumperless butt. Quite frankly, I'm shocked the cue has not sold yet.

DrOnePocket....best of luck with your sale.

MrMike....awesome job on the cue....love it!

8ball....you need to know when to hold'em, and know when to fold'em.

Quite frankly ALL you people that wish to comment about people instead of the topic at hand need to take your *****ing elsewhere. This forum should be for buyers and sellers only! If you're NOT buying or selling STFU. I made the man a legitimate offer as to what I believe the cue is worth! Those that know me here also know I have purchased well over 20 cues and cases in the last couple of months. I will also be purchasing many more!

If YOU are not buying/selling the cue...you should not have ANY comment positive or negative in this thread! THAT should be the rule! However, if you are going to allow others to give their positive opinions you MUST also allow negative opinions too! Last time I checked...this IS the USA were people have the right to express their opinions. However, I do agree...this forum should be for BUYERS AND SELLERS ONLY!

If you want to complain about anything here, complain about the children who jumped into this thread and started with the bashing and name calling. All I wanted to do is buy the cue, but not until the price comes way down!

Maybe I'll just STOP buying on AZ and take my business elsewhere!

I certainly appreciate those of you that are trying to help. Some people just don't have any respect.

This cue is gorgeous and plays good to boot. If I was going to continue playing pool, I would keep it.

I never received any offer from 8ball for those who care

If you are using the BB3 to base the value of this cue from, and thereby your lowball offer.....almost no one uses the BB3 as it is so inaccurate as to valueing maker's work, it's almost laughable in many cases. Some makers' work is valued too high and others too low. The BB3 was a fiasco...

Don't be an a$$! You are publicly asking for offers. I am publicly offering. If you don't like it fine! That cue is not worth more than $700...which is obvious by the fact that it is NOT selling. Now grow up! Do you want to sell it or not?

What's your problem? Mommy not give you enough attention or what
