I recently contacted a cuemaker about a J/B cue. He has a posted price for them on a website with an Irish linen wrap for XXX dollars. I then asked what the price would be for one that was wrapless with no fancy wood just plain maple. He said he was going to start making some soon because of requests. He then told me the wrapless would be $75.00 more than the Irish linen wrapped version. My question is; why is it more expensive to do less work by going wrapless? There is no linen to buy or install, plus no wrap groove to cut. The only difference is spraying the finish on the handle area. Please don't say, (oh because he can get it), I am looking for a real explanation to justify the upcharge for what I see as less work less material and an easier build..
