Thanks for that information! I'll have to check with my credit card company to see if they offer that too!

A few years ago, a major corporation, which will remain nameless in this post, had 1200 retail outlets.

Each store was set up individually with its own bank account with the headquarters being able to draw off each account. The account were all protected with overdraft protection and these stores did mega bucks in sales.

Once every two weeks, the home office would overdraw the store's bank account by $1000.

Do the math. The home office got to use $2.4 million each month interest free.

A vice president of the company told me this one day over lunch.

I have a feeling that this deal with KT is similar in nature. If some people don't notice, that's just more money in his pocket.

Roll over a couple million a month like this in an interest bearing account and that would make a pretty good house payment plus make his net worth look alot healthier on paper.

Hi Everyone,
I was online tonight checking out my credit card statement and came across a charge that I never made. It was for:$ 89.95
They also said there had been others with another charge of $120 for similar stuff.

If you get this charge, please report it to your credit card company as soon as possible.

Fortunately, my credit card company was more than willing to dispute this charge for me.

Just wanted to give out the warning to all pool players...

I'm way too smart for K.T. and always one step ahead of him. Just do what I did: I went waaaaaaaay over my credit limit on my one and only VISA card and now noone can add ANYTHING to my card..... LOL

( you have to get up pretty early in the morning to get over on me... OR, to get any english muffins at my house ) :)

I DID EXACTLY THE SAME!!! (But I didn't do it on the one I used at IPT though  )

If somebody somehow obtains your credit information and charges you for something you didn't authorize, can't you press charges? It seems to me that there's a fraud division of federal law enforcement somewhere (not sure exactly how that's structured) that would be interested to know that a convicted fraud is once again frauding it up. If they did bring him up on charges, I'm sure the judge/jury would be disinclined to be lenient on this repeat offender and professional liar.

Here is something everyone who uses their credit card online should look into.

I have a MasterCard from Citi bank that I use for online purchases or to fund my PayPal accounts.

The thing Citi card offers, and I'm almost positive ALL credit card companies have similar is something called Virtual Credit Card.

Here is how it works. You log onto the credit card company's website and download a small security program they provide. Once installed it works like this.

Say you have a credit card with $10,000 dollars worth of credit and the card number is 123 456 789.

You launch is small virtual credit card program and it asks you if you would like to generate a virual number and amount and even an expiration date.

Lets say you want to purchase a billiard video. You set the amount to 30 bucks, and expiration date for a month or two. The program generates a credit card number randomly ...... 245 543 589 only good for 30 bucks.

It is actually a subnumber off your original credit card but NO ONE has your actual number. Only the 30 dollar number. It is instantly able to be used and if anyone snatches it online it is too late to use since you used it all up on the video purchase.

This is a must have for online credit card use.

A very good idea!!! Except that anyone who does any form of online banking, including what you are suggesting, no matter how secure you think it is, DO NOT DO IT. Go down to the bank and get it done.

Even though banks and what-not offer identify theft, I have additional insurance through the freecreditreport.com company.

Our company has a computer security expert and last month he advised us to NEVER do online banking. A friend of his took him too lightly and it cost him $30,000 and tons of time.

Regards, WW

sadly identity theft or impersonation does not fall under what you call as heinous nor grave crime. it is not even considered as a legitimate crime, to what some legal observers say. which means that the perpetrator (a habitual offender or not) can only have a short sentence or even be dismissed by the court for lack of evidence due to technicality, eventhough if the plaintiff spent not just thousands but also millions of dollars in expenditures (it doesn't matter). the problem now lies on the credit card company on how they would or would not reimburse your finances. some unlucky people even got indebted for life for outstanding credit. the legal process takes so many years in handling these particular cases, especially if it involves a very hefty sum of dough. don't expect the credit company would simply give up without a fight. one case that I saw, took 10 years IIRC, before the person got what he lost and an additional sum of money for moral damages. the lawsuit was big, but it was nothing compared to the trauma and trouble caused to that person.

Meanwhile, back at headquarters.....

How did you make that picture. I have photoshop, but I wish I knew how to use all of its elements.

My credit card company is investigating the wrongful charge. The strange this is when they put the temporary credit back on to my account, it appeared as a completely different company.

Keep checking your statements

Please do not them get away with this. Report it immediately if it happens to you too.

Now I see someone who had their ebay identity taken. This is just getting too weird and a little scary with all the wrongful charges going on lately.
