WTB $1500-$2000 cue...Feeler thread

Sup guys...Long time lurker, been around for years, forgot my username and pw lol.
So, unfortunately, my McDermott Mike Massey Mystic was stolen with a Fury Jump break and a beautiful brown suede and leather case. Anyways, I need to replace, and now I can afford something a little nicer (although it was a pretty cue, if you're familiar.

This is a feeler as I might not be able to purchase for 1-2 months from now (spent all my cue money to go to 12 hours of Sebring race....worth it)

I have very specific wants, so if you think you have the cue for me, let me know.

I like fancy cues, stained fancy birdseye or curly maple, leather lizard wraps, but not opposed to white with green speck. I like sharp points, 6, maybe a couple veneers, notched diamonds in ivory or mother of pearl. Id like it to be in new or near new condition. I really like James Whites work. It's like he picks my brain everytime he builds a cue, but I don't think I can afford one of his fancier cues (but I may be willing to stretch my budget if a good JMW is offered). I am familiar with all cuemakers, so just shoot me some ideas. Thanks a lot guys I hope to see some pretty cues, and even prettier deals.

Sweet Runde, right up my alley, although brown isn't really my thing. These cues were for sale a month ago. These are all my wants, even though lacking notched diamonds. I'd prefer ebony butt/black wrap. Lol, I should get a cue made, but I think that's out of my price range and time .

Edit: can't post links yet, but search 'JMWs' posted by thediamond to see what i'm into.

I'm getting a lot of great pm's, thanks. Still haven't found what i'm looking for. When I can post pictures (probably after next bump) I'll give you an idea of what i'm looking for. Hopefully the fact my beloved cue I took care of like my child being stolen might tug on some heart strings :) . Thanks.

I care about over bumping. So do the Moderators, and other members that WTB/WTS on this forum.I feel bad too that someone's gear was stolen, but that doesn't mean rules can be broken anytime someone feels it's important to THEM.I am trying to feed my family and pay rent,by selling extra pool equipment,as I am out of work.Every un necessary bump, sends my thread and others down and eventually off page 1 and into the abyss. This little statement,is just my $.02 but I hope that it helps others understand, that over bumping hurts all of us.

BTW,Nick, that was a very nice gesture offering the OP a discount on any of your equipment for sale.I will offer the same to the OP.If I am selling anything in your price range, please contact me for exceptional prices.
Marc :)

I have these three . . .

I have these three beauties.

Since you had a McDermott stolen, here is a special cue that Jim McDermott made from 30 year old blanks he found hiding at their shop. 6 points w/veneers, leather wrap, and the notched diamonds you like. New, test hit-only condition. I'd do $650. shipped CONUS (notice the $1099.00 sticker still attached)

The other is my absolute favorite Meucci Originals ("Originals" being the high quality very desirable, best playing Meuccis) design which is their Bushka Tribute. Dots and notched diamonds with green/white spec linen. Restored cond. I'd do $675. shipped CONUS

Last but def not least is a Jeff Olney (best bang for the buck custom-cues ever, imo) featuring maple on maple veneered points and, once again, the notched diamonds in pearl that you like. In *very" lightly played excellent++ cond. I'd do $750. shipped CONUS

Let me know if any of these might be of interest to you.

best,
brian kc

Batalarms is Right!

Not trying to hijack this person's thread.....not here to knock it either.

Marc was right about the original poster being a bit overly zealous in bumping his thread. Nick was also correct in displaying some understanding about the original poster's circumstances as well.

Fact: Serious minded sellers are being needlessly hurt by having their for sale items being pushed back from the front pages by frivolous posts and bumps. Even my post right now is in the same genre of bumping.

Fact: The Forum Moderators have an overwhelming task monitoring the threads and associated posts.

Fact: The Forum is becoming more crowded with threads that have nothing to do with buying or selling any pool related items.

Solution: I dunno....it's not my Forum and I don't decide the rules.

BUT...it would help, IMO, if the Moderators would work together and get the Forum owners to post a clearly stated set of requirements for the Forum, especially since the ones posted by Jerry F. are not the actual rules that were composed by Mr. Wilson. long ago.

"Hey, Batalarms"......stay the course and until the Moderators take a more forceful, "consistent" approach to threads and posts, just report posts that violate the rules on bumping. I was already told by Mr. Wilsom that the Moderators have discretion, i.e., judgement, over which threads/posts are not allowed.

Discretion isn't smart because because policies are meant to be crystal clear and not subject to interpretation of any Moderator..........All that interpretation stuff is supposed get ironed out "BEFORE" any policy is decided and published. Then if the policy isn't effective, a revision or clarification is issued to the original Policy. The Moderators just need to get tough but that still hasn't happened and may never occur.

Oh Blah Dee Oh Blah Daa.........life goes on.......even on the Forum.
