I have a friend who is looking for a pool cue. He doesn't have much money and he doesn't know much about cues or how to search for them online, so I said I would help him out. I know you guys deal in much higher end cues here, but i thought I would see if anyone has anything lying around that would serve my friend. He isn't picky, just wants it to be straight and under 150.00

Thanks in advance.

Your friend will be very happy if he follows the advise given. Bill Dominiak makes about the best cue going for $169 delivered, I think. You can't even buy a good shaft for that from most folks, and with Bill, you get to choose the wrap color, etc. Take a look here:

I suggest an Elite.. They have a radial pin, Look good, and they play good.. You can pick them up for $130 or less on ebay.. Just go to Billiards on ebay and type in Elite for the search.

You honestly can't go wrong with one of these cues for the price..

I would say, let your friend try some cues. There aint no best cue. There are only cues that suits or don't suits your personal taste.

Wow

Thanks for all the great input!! My friend is rather new to the "scene", so he is impressionable when it comes to hit, etc.

If anyone has a cue to offer, I would ask for pics to be sent to my email address, caremacle@yahoo.com I am going to gather up offer and info and print it all out for him before I see him next on the 21st, let him make the decision and make the purchase.

Thanks again for all the help and keep the offers coming! :D

Yeah, I hate to say it...But there are some nice deals on Ebay. I have seen Meucci and even Joss cues go for under $150.00

You can't beat a Joss for that price. And there are always used cues on here that people have let go for that price. I seen a Meucci Original go for that awhile back.

You know they say Ebay is where it's at....But AZ ain't too bad either!
Props for the site!

How about an upstart?

I've got a couple I've made the might fit the bill.

$125 for this one

$100 for this one

Also got an old Adams that I've been meaning to refinish, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'd let this one go for $75 as is.

Let me know if you're interested.

I second schmelke, esp since your friend doesn't mind a plain looking cue, a schmelke can get you down to $100. try www.billiardwarehouse.com.

As for ebay.. how is everyone's experiences? I was a bit uneasy considering buying a cue off of ebay.. maybe I don't know enough to scrutinize the cue once i receive it.

available cues

I have a few viking cues in that range I can sell as well as a used mcderrmott and lucasi.

Thanks for the input so far. I apologize though, I still haven't caught up to my friend to show him all his options. Hopefully I will be able to do that soon.
