WTB Black Boar shaft.Must have proof it's a BB

That stinks...

It's hard to own a cue made by someone who doesn't want to work on it for you. I wish you luck in whatever you decide.

Good luck in your search.

seriously thought about buying a new boar till i looked into them with thought & many ?s. Your right if cue maker cant repair his own cues why buy them! Seams logical to me !!

I think Dennis said he had 2000 shafts within 1 turn of being ready he won't make you re wrap and refinish to make a shaft and it will be good shaft wood. At half the price quoted for a black boar shaft from tony!
I would probably sell it with the shafts it came with and get a cue from someone that will work on their cue but I am kinda funny like that....

Here's the problem, there is just not that many quality pieces of shaft wood out there so Tony needs to conserve his shaft wood to new cues.

Then why would he make shafts for you if you got other services?

Not many quality pieces of shaft wood out there? In the world??

Gotta call bullshlt on that one.

I don't understand why he wouldn't make you a shaft. I just rang up and spoke to him and Donnie only a few months ago and there was no problem.

Is you cue a Black Boar?

If it wasn't and he needed to fit it to a different cue-makers cue or use a different joint then I can understand. But if you have a Black Boar butt then surely he would oblige as he made the cue?

With my shaft I didn't send the butt and he said the fit would be fairly exact without seeing the butt. Therefore, why not try asking someone else to call with the same request to rule out any other possibilities.

I call BS

Want a bb shaft buy one from anyone but shadowmoss. Enjoy it. Might be worth what you paid for. Fakes are everwhere.

I too

I too have never heard of Tony not making a shaft for one of his cues. I know him very well and he is set in his ways but not that bad. I'd say try again and have a solid talk with him

There are a few other cue makers that get their wood from the same place Tony does. Those cue makes pay less for it than Tony. Tony gets charged a premium because of the value of his cues I believe and the fact of how picky he is about his materials. When Tony gets a bunch of shafts he starts production. When he makes his cuts, if its not premium ,no marks,no stains ,and many other factors too he tosses them into the fire wood pile. He is precise and selective on everything he uses.

Example ONLY: he calls dealer Ordering 100 shafts. Say his price is $100 each(I'm not sure what they go for but this is a example)! That bill is $10,000

When he does his production, for his likings & quality control say he only gets. 50 good shafts. Well guess what he has 50 bad ones he don't get credit for and he doesn't need to eat that cost. The supplier doesn't eat it either. So now his $100 per blank shafts are $200 @ cost. So when collars/ ferrules /ferrule-less/time/tips /inlays get involved there is a cost. Then a small profit is made by Tony which is expected. This is demand to seek the best or one of the best.

Other cue makers ordering the same wood from the same guy at lesser price use all 100 and don't care? You be the judge. Do they not see or have the know how of what tony does? Or is there nothing wrong with the wood tony tosses out? By any means I trust Tony 110% and his opinion and would pay for a shaft from him direct anyday

None of what you just said has anything to do with the amount of quality shaft wood in the world. If he has such high quality control then he could just increase his initial order. Also I hope you don't honestly think he pays anywhere near 100 bucks for a shaft from the supplier.

His quality control standards aren't any higher than other cue makers such as Searing and the like. He just has you guys thinking he does. Just saying.

*Na I was using as example only*

What I'm saying is his quality control and the wood is some of the finest and thus is some of the finest wood.

Better than Searing? No. But Searing is the only person in his class I'd say. Upcoming, Pete Tonkin is reaching a status up there too IMO

I get what you're saying, but honestly I think there's about a dozen in his class. All I have to do us call Ernie Gutierrez up and tell him to give me an old monster and he sends me a >4 ounce shaft that's flawless and been hanging for 20 years. Not a big deal at all.

That's sounds like a great shaft and cue maker :) I would love me some shaft wood like that. But Tony has it

This is a for sale add

I informed the posted where to get a BB shaft. Shadowmoss then posted up a BB shaft. No authentification needed.
WTF you other posters are spewing is conjecture and off topic. You want the best it is not cheap.
It will be signed and that as a Rambo signature is worth double what anything without a signature would be. It will never be subject to conjecture of any value.
Enjoyed helping. If you do not have a Black Boar shaft for sale you are lost and far from home posting on this thread. An opinion section is available. This is not it.
Eric I guess I am going to start saving up. Can I have 10/10 or 1/10?
Nick Serdula.

LOL! I have Gus shafts 30+years old and over 4 oz still straight. Most good cuemakers choose only the best shaft wood and cull the inferior wood! The wood in Tony's cues is no better than Showmans, Murray Tuckers, Tascarella, Dennis Searing, Joel Hercek etc maybe better than sugartree as I have never seen the MASTERS use wood like his and I would think their is a reason for that! If the one that makes the cue will not make another shaft for it I would sell it and it sure as hell has nothing to do with the supply of his magic shaft wood! Get real NICK! What a JOKE!About as funny as $600 for one of his shafts. I for 1 would not want his name on my shaft or Gus ,Barry,Searing,Joel,Tucker etc...That is tackey as hell only one full of himself would do that!
Ron<--Don't want a Black Boar at any price!

Yup

Pure BS. Nothing like someone telling me or you Pook about what they know about shafts. About squat.
They might know more about squat but playability no way. You gotta be able to play to do that.
Two players. Boat loads of nut jobs. If you can't play unlike teaching you can't expound on playability.
Sorry, no means no,
Nick :)

Sometimes I wonder why I post in AZ fantasy land
