Anybody got a piece about 6" long there willing to spare at a decent price, so I can make some ferrules.

Hello Paul. I realize Atlas is currently out of stock on the solid ferrule rod but in case you didn't know they do have some of the precut noncapped tube ferrules available. I think they are only $1.25 each. They work great as I prefer the noncapped anyway. Also the Elforyn is the exact same material...same hit....difference is the Elf has the swirls to look like ivory where as the Juma is a solid ivoryish color. Same hit & machining characteristics. Of course the Elf rod is double the Juma price. Hope this helps. :smile:

As so I was told by my friend from Atlas. He said the only difference is cosmetic...that the Elf had the ivory like swirls. After using each I'll say yes they cut/machine/finish/feel the exact same.:smile:

How about smell? That's how I usually figure out what type of wood I'm working with if there are a few that look similar (blackwood / ebony or E.A. Rosewood / Braz Rosewood). Elforyn has a distinct smell to it as well. I have not used Juma.
 
Hi Guys,

JUMA and Elforyn are not the same materials and just differ because of the grain structure in Elforyn. The ingredients of JUMA are different than those of Elforyn!!! They both machine etc almost identically though. The hardness, playability etc is also almost identical, but the materials are 2 different ones.
