WTB Maple Tad

Will sent me a cue to try out before I bought it from him (what a guy!), a great old Zebrawood Tad, which unfortunately was a little too short for me. So I'm back hunting for a plain Maple (or Zebrawood) Tad, hopefully 2 shafts 13MM, 58 or 59 inches and 19 ounces.

Thanks

Kevin

You were supposed to call somebody when you got the Tiger Tad........

............remember now ???????

This is why you my friend are a prince among men. I ask you to order the cue because I'm too shy. Then I ask you to pay for the cue because I'm too broke. Then I ask you to store the cue, unplayed, because I'm too picky. Please just hang on to the cue a few more years for me, I'll maybe have the dough by that time. Please store it good so it doesn't warp.

Thanks

Kevin
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for the laugh

I also have a plain maple Tad. However, mine does not have a steel joint, it is wood to wood and a variation on the color theme of the traditional steel jointed one. PM me if you are interested.

That's a great cue and I love the joint, but I think I want the forward balance of steel for my player.

Thanks

hospital bills, which are apparently never ending even with insurance.

Sucks dosent it. I had insurance that was quoted as $2500 max out of pocket per year. When all was said and done my emergency surgery and followup surgery (same deductable mind you) in an in network hospital cost me $13000 so far.

It does suck. The hospital bills before they knocked it down for insurance was 159K. What they submitted to insurance was 55K. Can someone explain why its 104K cheaper to the insurance co than it would be to an individual? Its just start high and grind, just like buying a car except the Drs put out this divine air.

By the way:

WHERE'S MY DAMN TAD ?

That's a really good deal on what probably is a great cue. Its a great stick but:

Its not 19 ozs

Not steel jointed

Doesn't have 2 straight 13MM shafts

and lastly,

IT'S NOT A TAD!

I play great for a guy that can't play.

Insurance companies provide a few things that providers can rely/bank on....quantity and certain payments. I agree with the point about "usual and customary" charges....they are way overinflated in many regards. Keeping this pool-related, I sort of liken it to the pricing strategies of certain cuemakers....overinflating a "retail price" but then they turn around and allow any paying customer to negotiate down to a "wholesale price". Why bother with having a retail price...

Seriously, most of the time if you are uninsured and a cash payer, a health care provider will negotiate a payment with you....oftentimes at a substantial reduction, even close to what some insurance companies would pay.

Oh yeah I know its just getting to be such a game and I grew up thinking Drs were something they are not. Before I had my stroke I was having some what we thought were ear issues and did a couple of stints with a Beverly Hills ear guy. My insurance Co puked when they saw his bill, would pay anything, not usual and customary not nothing and wouldn't even apply the $$ I paid to my deductible. He was just too damn high. Anyway, he knocked his $3200 billing to $400 and I paid him.

Keeping this pool related is easy. Lets all talk about finding my Tad so I can eBay my Gina before the ivory ban in January!

BTW I agree with the whole cue maker's pricing BS. I buy and sell stuff for a (meager) living, so I don't mind negotiating, I do it all day, but its way refreshing dealing with a vendor who just flat delivers at their time frame and price. I don't want to pitch Ernie too much in a thread where I'm looking to get a Tad so I can sell my Gina, but Ernie has one price for everybody, and when he quotes a time he is done on or before that time. Plus the cue is perfect, or better said, it is exactly what he said it would be. Now that is what a deal should be.

i was under the assumption that the doctors and hospitals rape the insurance companies to even out the lower fees to the non insured people. insurance is the biggest scam in the world anyway.

you have insurance for 10 + years paying 2500$ a year and get into a small accident for $3K worth of damage and your policy goes up. so you paid in $25K now you cost them $3k and now you pay more

sick

Thanks I'm probably going to keep the Gina and just grind the hospital that much more on the portion I owe them.

Dave, your fist assumption about health insurance would be somewhat wrong. Stop me at Valley Forge and we can discuss if you're interested, it would be a book here...there's lots of factors. I guess on the second one, you're talking auto insurance, so I would suggest shopping around and change carriers. We ran into a similar situation a few years back. It pays every year or so to shop around for your car insurance, especially if you are young.
