WTB Micarta Ferrules

I am looking for 2 micarta ferrules that are the same exact material used by Jerry Franklin on the early South West Cues.
Let me know.
Thanks

I think the ferrule used by SW are not the old Micarta with the Asbestos. I have a few of the old Micarta ferrule that Knifemaker was selling and I think it may be the same stuff. Installed one on my Jerry Olivier shaft and it plays really good.

Regards,
Duc.

Try PDCUES or Mike Webb...they might have some or know where to find them...they are not cheap.......

I know they are not cheap but I don't mind spending the scratch if they're the real deal.
I am going to have South West cues install them for me.
BTW, Laurie Franklin informed that the micarta has to be cut correctly or they will not install them for me.

Curious, what kind, exactly are you looking for? I got a bunch from Percy last year and lately I have been using it. It has a reeaally sweet hit. I am an ivory nut and I like it as much as ivory if not more.

Westinghouse micarta.I believe it is the one with asbestos in it.
I already bought 2 a few months back and sent them to South West to have them installed on my 97' Cocobolo merry widow SW. They confirmed it was the same Micarta that Jerry Franklin used. The hit is much better than the original ferrules that came on my SW which I believe is LBM.

Westinghouse

I've got a few of the Micarta ferrules from Percy (knifemaker) available. They were made from a block of micarta that had Westinghouse stamped on it before we cut them; they are not pre-drilled so SW can do what they need to do.....$20 a piece.

These do not to the best of my knowledge have the asbestos in them and, IMHO play as good as the other micarta ferrules that do ;)

If it is the 'Old Yellow' with asbestos, your only bet would be to contact pdcue. He was selling them for around $75 for one ferrule. The ones Percy had were the old paper based Micarta and I bought them for a lower price and personally I think they hit better.

There is a great deal of info on Micarta and the terms pertaining to Westinghouse, 'Old Yellow', asbestos, paper based and so on. You might want to do a search and read up a little so you can be sure about what you are buying. Many people often get things mixed up when talking about Micarta because there are so many different kinds.
