Hi Tim- I recently acquired a shaft (Tibbetts) with a Moori Med tip...
It has held up well, still has a lot of tip left, but eventually I will need to
replace it, no doubt... and I definitely want to stay with the Moori Medium...
I wasn't aware these have gotten to be hard to find, so I did a search and
found this site for Cuecomponents.com ... perhaps you have already
been there and done that? ...
anyway, there is talk about there being a lot of counterfeits on the market
for fake Moori's, escpecially the Moori 3 and 9-layer Moori's...
Perhaps you are already aware of this?, and maybe shed a little light on it?

First, Genuine Moori -vs- Fake Moori
We've posted a picture of the genuine Moori next to the fake Moori. For comparison please note that the packaging on the left while similar, there are differences worth noting: the green package lettering is a slightly different shade and more pronounced or bolder on the fakes while the foil dots or indentations are more pronounced on the genuine Moori.
The fakes are darker in color and taller while the genuine Moori are a softer tone and less thick. The tips shown on the left here are actually fake Moori III's.
Current fake Moori being offered are 9 layers!
Current Genuine Moori IV are 8 layers!
The hologram shows differently using the hologram decoder tool (which all reputable distributors possess). On the genuine packaging, the hologram changes image while on the fakes it's just a clear sticker that shows just one color and one image. This hologram appears on the foil backing and is located in the center of every 4 tips.
Additionally, the holograms also show the words, GENUINE, AUTHENTIC AND SECURE on each hologram. You will need a 10 power magnifying glass to discern these words while holding them at different angles.
The fakes are approximately .707mm tall while the genuine Moori are approximately .628mm tall.
Worth mentioning is also the fact that Moori is not manufacturing any Moori Black Cue Tips. The ones being offered on eBay and elsewhere are counterfeits.

I'm sure I have some stached around some where. I will check and get back to you if your still interested. I have had them for a long time.
Moori tips are temporary out of production. Nobody knows when they will get back to work again. You should grab some from Joe while he still has them in stock.
Btw, the counterfeit Moori tips took one step further. They are selling new generation of fake Moori tips which are in black with multiple colors. They even have a line of Moori pool cues! You guys gotta see how ridiculous this is>>>
