Hope No One Minds The Bump

I really hope the other forum readers don't object to my efforts to keep this posting alive and in the front of the pack with the occasional bump....come too far to start getting lazy....actually had a sniff at an original.....but I'm still posting away so you know that's all it was.

This is going to happen...too many people have been kind by referring me to other forum members...I am becoming more optimistic now more than ever before....this will happen but not without your help....not asking anyone to go out of their way by calling everyone they know.....but just keep me in mind in case you ever have reason to talk to anyone about Scruggs cues.

I also want to apologize to anyone that understands Italian.....my handle isn't intended to offend you but was just my feeble attempt at trying to be sarcastically funny.

And please remember to contact me at matthew.m.brennan@comcast.net if you want to send any photos. If you have a lead or gosh, a cue, please send me a PM. There's too many bottom feeders that await someone posting info on the forum, vs sending me a PM, just so they can interrupt my search and possibly swoop up the cue before me. Fortunately, I've spoken with lots of sellers that are very honorable people and that's not going to happen with them. But the next seller might not fully appreciate how intense and arduous this search has become and therefore be more susceptible to persons trying to take credit for my hard work by attempting to buy the cue from before I can....damn low lifes.

Thanks Everyone......Matt

The Originals Are The Best!!!!!

The original Balabushka cues are just the best....I have never hot with one but there's a fellow that lives in Fresno, former pro player named Tommy Hill, who owns one and an original Szambo too. I've seen his cues when he sometimes plays in a local one night pool hall tournaments. He's a really nice guy and I'm sure that he'd let your stroke a ball or two if your asked him but I've just never gotten around to asking him.

Yeah....art can be duplicated and imitated....which is sort of what I've been trying to do finsing a Scruggs Bushka Tribute cue....but the copies will never be as good as the original. No matter how good the Picasso on the wall might look to you, if it's not painted by "Pablo" himself, then all you have is a wanna be and it's never really the same......Matt

KID TNT...aka Dynamite

The veneers in your Scruggs look great and the brown prong color is really different than most cues I've seen which seem to be ebony.....a very nice Scruggs.

Question?

What is your budget? Post it. Show a picutre or describe what you want. Weight, balance point, veneer colors and ring design.
Budget. Description. Balance point.
Otherwise this thread should go in the main forum.

Muecci makes a fine balabushka tribute cue. Oldie 3.
Nick :)

I agree. All the ones offered so far were to expensive. So You need to post what you have to spend. Tim Scruggs cues will not be cheap for sure... Most of the Tim Scruggs tribute cues I have seen had a lot of work in them (not plain janes).

Besides, Lucky seems to buy them all lol...

I see people posting Bushka Tribute cues with leather wraps. Did George ever use anything other than white with green spec irish linen?

Yes, I have an George Balabushka cue refinished by Barry Szamboti who was able to preserve the original leather wrap.

Matt if your price range is what you told me a few weeks ago your going to be VERY hard pressed to find one. You are going to have a hard time finding what your looking for in that price point. Scruggs cues are out there but people seem to be holding on to them for good reason. I dont see them getting cheaper than what they were a few years ago even in this crappy market. Good luck in your search though.

I'm looking for a Tim Scruggs version of a Bushka Tribute cue that so many cuemakers seem to offer from time to time. I know that Richard Black makes a beautiful version, as does Dennis Searing & Ariel Carmelli, and I'm sure there are others as well (like Steve Klein etc). I've found some Richard Black Bushkas but they tend to be a bit too too heavy of a cue at the mid 20oz range and I prefer to play with (around 19 19-5 oz range).

So....if anyone happens to have such a cue, or knows soemone that wants to sell their Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue, please steer them to me via AZ or even my personal e-mail account (matthew.m.brennan@comcast.net)....Thanks....Matt
Richard Black could make you one in your weight range and you could pick your colors and have it made just the way you want. I don't think the wait is too long and he has been known to make a pretty sporty cue. Just a thought. Good luck again and I hope you find a cue you love!!!

Hope Everyone Understands....

Just evening bump to keep this posting in the forefront and read by as many forum readers as possible....the search continues each and ever day. However, I don't stand much of a chance of locating a Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue without the help from other Forum Readers.

A higher bounty didn't even get a reply so essentiallyI'm just relying upon the goodness of others at this point. So I hope you will keep me in mind when you discuss pool cues with other cue owners and pool players in general. You never can tell what will happen by word of mouth but you can sure predict the results if everyone's lips are sealed. Thank for for your kindness and invaluable assistance helping me find my cue......Matt

Bob,

You're really on target about Richard Black's cues...his Bushka Tribute looks as good as any I've seen around for a long time. I started this search for a Scruggs cue and said I'd give it until 9/11...an easy date to remember. At that point, I'll probably switch cue makers and buy a Richard Black or Ariel Carmeli cue or perhaps a Steve Klein Texas George with some slight changes. But giving up for me is just so hard to do....I'm a stubborn old Irishman but there's a limit two more months and then I'll switch gears and buy something else. W.C. Fields said very aptlly... "If at first you don't succeed, quit before you start to look like an idiot."

Just Checking

Okay....another day has started and maybe today we'll get lucky....don't really have any idea whether any forum readers spoke to anyone about a Scruggs Bushka Tribute Cue yesterday. But what the heck, what's that crappy expression...."With each new day comes new opportunities,"....blah blah blah....a bunch of malarkey unless the forum network of readers buys into this search. A lot of people have gone out of their way to try to assist me more than once....their generosity has been a personally uplifting experience...basically a total stranger offerring a helping hand to another total stranger with no expectation of receiving anthing in return. I've been blessed to meet some really great folks and acquired some new acquaintences along the way.

But without the interest and support of forum readers in general, then each new day just brings more posting rhetoric from me, personally calling folks who had no idea I would be contacting them that day, browsing websites, searching old listings and then more incessant posting banter from me on the forum.....Thanks everyone for your indulgence.

Okay team, enuf with the sentimentality....back to the search....let's get back to work....I have a feeling the cue will be found today. Okay...so you doubt it....then if the cue isn't found today, then maybe this week. Boy, you're being negative today....then if it's not found by the weekend
then definitely this month.

Come on work with me...don't be so cynical & give up on me....How about this.....let's just be idealistic and think today's the day. Can't wait to see who calls to tell me they've found it....Oh and by the way, not one person who
s offerred me a helping hand has ever even mentioned the bounty I offerred.....it speaks volumes about the character and thoughtfulness of others who have tried to assist me.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR HELPING TURN AN OTHERWISE MISERABLY FRUSTRATING EXPERINCE INTO A SOMEWHAT REWARDING AND LESS FRUSTRATING ONE......WOULDN'T BE THAT WAY WITHOUT YOU FOLKS.

Matt

Just Following Up

Another day and the search contimues....how's everyone doing today....we're getting closer on finding this cue but not without the help of the other forum readers.

So please when you discuss cues with anyone and if the topic of Scruggs cues happens to arise during your conversation, could you please remember to inquire if the other person happens to know of any original Scruggs Bushka Tribute cues being available?

This search is admittedly frustrating but along the way I've met some new forum members and have received some very gracious & generous support from other readers of my posting trying to help me. That by itself is uplifting and keeps me hopeful this search is going to be ultimately successful....but not without the continued assistance of other readers. There's been so many other Scruggs cues that have become available and I'm tempted to settle for one, or find get another manufacturer's Bushka Tribute cue.

But I have an intuitive feeling that something good is going to come from this forum and so I'm sticky to my guns....so......HELP....PLEASE....save the other forum readers from having to read my incessant banter and pleas for help.....all that has to happen is let's find that darn cue first.

Thanks to all......Matt
