WTB Somewhat Soon - R1 - R6, or other early 90's Schon (just one cue, though!!!)

All,

I'm going to do my best to pick up an older Schon cue in the next couple/few months. It doesn't HAVE to be an R1-R6, I suppose...but it's gotta be an early 1990's or earlier cue. Not interested in the higher, inlaid models. Want a simple, nice player to tote around with me.

MUST BE STRAIGHT and SOLID
19-19.5oz preferred
2 shafts preferred
12.75mm or higher on shaft diameters
Doesn't have to be in perfect condition, just not wobbly/warped at all

I've got time on my side right now, and I'm not in any rush to buy one tomorrow.

Please drop me a line if you have one available, or know of someone who does.

Will pay via paypal, cash, money order, etc...whatever the seller prefers.

Thanks much, ya'll.

Heya, sir.

Thanks much for the heads-up. I saw Richard's cue. Looks nice. Very nice.

Not quite what I'm after, though. Looking to stay within the specs and design description mentioned above. I know it'll take some patience and hunting, but I'm willing to wait for the right one to come along.

Waiting for Duane to drop me a line and tell me I can have his recently acquired R6!!! :) :)

Thanks again. Take care.

I got a near MINT R6 with blue purple nat black veneers. 2 12.8-13mm shafts with stitch rings.

The butt cap was broken when I got it so I sent it to Scott Serbine to refinish the shafts and I sent the butt to schon to replace the butt cap.

Forearm is near mint with one tiny scratch but other than that its perfect.

I dont really know any other history of the cue so I cant attest to anything else other than what I seen and did to the cue.

I am golfing right now, but will send you some pics when i get home if you are interested.

Sir,

I AM INTERESTED. Please shoot me some pics when you're able.

Thanks much! Looking forward to seeing it.

Bump to the TOP for a great AZer...

Be patient and get "your" cue. These are great cues.

Good Luck my friend,
Chris

I have one of the first schon cues ever produced (I'm the original owner, purchased it from Terry Romine at his former High Pockets room location in downtown Milwaukee around 1980). This cue was made prior to them stamping their logo on the butt cap. It's not in any catalog, but the best way to describe it is it looks like an R-5 without the points. The forearm is some of the most gorgeous birdseye maple ever with a gold stain. It weighs approximately 19.5 oz., has a 5/16-14 flat faced joint (not piloted). It comes with two shafts, with micarta ferrules. They are both still straight. I just recently had the cue refinished by Andy Gilbert. PM me if you're interested - be forewarned, won't be cheap.

Ok, I am no photographer and dont claim to be so save the ball busting. This camera is BRAND new 14mp and I have no idea what settings to use so I experimented and this is what I got in a real quick amount of time........

I have a newer older R6 if that makes sense as in later produced Sharp points but nickel ring at the joints. Dead straight, perfect shape and hits a ton.
