I’m looking to buy a good starter lathe. It will be strictly for tip replacement and shaft cleaning. What would you recommend?
I also thought that I only wanted to do tips and clean shafts when I first started. I would suggest going ahead and getting something like the Mid Size Cue Smith with large spindle bore so you can do all the basic repair work.It will be strictly for tip replacement and shaft cleaning.
This is how it starts .
I too wanted to just replace tips and clean my cues. Glad I listened to Chris. I just replaced a tenon, ferrule and tip on another break cue (thought it was just a cracked ferrule). With just one other repairman anywhere nearby, I’m glad I bought the Mid Size Cue Smith.I also thought that I only wanted to do tips and clean shafts when I first started.
