Just by coincidence, I got an email from a friend of mine the other day who has a cue on order from Viattorre Cues. Viattorre is a Filipino cue company that is generally well thought of. Anyway, my friend asked Jackson Tan, owner of Viattorre cues, what he thought of Gracie cues. Jackson, responded as follows: "It is a good production type cue you can pick up on Ebay, compared to the other junk there." This is a "for whatever it's worth" post, but since I had some info from a good source, I thought I'd stick it in.

Nice Looking Cues!?

I've followed guite a few of their auctions on EBAY....very quick responses from the Seller and they seem to be very motivated in breaking into the US market!

These cues appear to nave very intricate designs with inlays and veneers for the money; however, I've never taken the plunge yet  to buy any of their cues.

I really like the looks of their butterfly cues which appear to be very well done. I've been told that the quality of their cues is comparable with a Miranda or Audrick (all made in the PI)!?

I believe the Viattorre's are suppose to be a better crafted cue overall but, that's only what I've read (FWIW) since I have not owned one either.

Best of luck ;)

for the hit i will go with a Viattorre over the other cues you mentioned Ken, construction-wise i think Miranda and Viattorre are quite nicely done. Have not tried a Gracie cue yet though, but it seems their cues are quite decent.

Pics?

Hi, I can't view the pics of the Gracie cues in this thread

Here's a couple pics of a Miranda I purchased from a fellow AZer awhile back....extremely nice cue ;)

Happy Turkey Day! :D

My opinion on the Phillipine cuemakers

I too have always wondered about these Phillipines cue makers. I have heard so many negative comments about their cues and how they are junk and warp very fast etc. etc. I took a chance and bought one by the maker named Ronej (sells on ebay). I have been very impressed with the cue for the price. I have had it here in the states for close to a year with no shaft warpage problems no inlay pops etc. etc. In addition I am familiar with Patrick Pau cues too as I currently have one listed on Ebay. I am selling this cue for a friend of mine. The Miranda cues and the Gracie cues look to be of the same quality and Ronej and Patrick Pau.

The best way to describe some of the cues from the phillipines and far east is like looking at a fake rolex, it might look like a thousand bucks but it aint the real thing. But of course this does not apply to all the cues, but for a lot of them this is a true statement.:D

I have quite a few cues from Miranda and I'm bidding on a few more right now. If you have a new shaft made for it, you will be even more surprise how well it plays. I have a custom Miranda made for me about 1 1/2 year ago that is still perfect and with the new shafts from Don Broos it plays better than anything that I had my hands on in the last 10 years. The only other cue that have hit as well and a little bit better was my Old Joss 68-72 with an ivory joint and 3/8-10 pin. I think Don Broos shafts have a lot to do with how amazing it plays now!! The cue is just perfectly balance and suited for me.

BTW... Don is probably one of the best cue maker in Canada right now!! This guy really know his stuff.

Regards,
Duc.
