WTT- Predator for something interesting?

EDIT: PICS ADDED BELOW

I just got a Predator. Not my cup of tea at all. It is a wrap-less 8 point with Red veneers. SP8? It has a 314 2 shaft. I don't know these cues but I looked some up on a web search and was blown away by the prices. These things are expensive! LOL!

I will get pics and specs up soon but I will say this is a damn nice cue and not banged up.

I am by no means in any hurry, I'll be interested to see what people come up with for trade offers. I will consider trading it for some C-Note style money...but lets try some cues or cases first please.

The cue is nice. Seriously. But there may be something wrong with it. I tried it out last night and it seems to miss occasionally. I just want to be honest here because everybody says these cues shoot "lights out" but when I was done the lights were still on.

Trades that come to mind:

OLD CUES, "production", semi-custom, custom, made by magical elves...
Huebler (Old ones, newer ones need not apply)
McDermott (C,D)
Viking (older= better)
JOSS (the ones I want are out of my league but I can dream)
Rich
Adam, Helmstetter, et al
Brunswick
Other

Newer Cues
Baxter (this man impresses me again and again)
Chuck Starkey (this man thinks outside the box)
Newer/less known/starting out makers feel free to make offers! (If you need wood, I might be able to latch onto a nice piece or two of something exotic, let's talk)
Prulhiere (the man charges too little)
Philippines makers (the better ones)
Other

UNKNOWN CUES- I am not afraid of interesting high quality unknowns...in fact I like them

Cases
O'Neil (especially deluxe versions, especially other than black interior)
George (Especially 2x4)
Almost any old tube cases! "Fellini, Thomas, Engles, Centennial style"
Castillo (just traded one away, their leather is SWEET!)
Antique cases, Brunswick style and similar
Other
I am not into tooled leather but I really dig nice leather in general, black is a plus.
Instroke and cowboy style cases need not apply.

Surprise me with something. Combination packages will be considered too, and maybe I can kick something in on my end. I dunno.

Think old, unusual, quality, interesting. I am sure there are many brands/makers I did not mention that would be very interesting to me. Let's have fun. :)

Oh...and I am in no hurry. If you would want me to move fast it would need to be something impressive. LOL!

Pics and specs soon!

Hey Doc, got a pic? What did you mean, the cue "misses"?
Sorry, I missed the pics-specs statement. What are you looking for in a trade, other than the C notes?

"It misses occasionally" was a joke. The cue shoots great whereas I may not.

What am I looking for? I figure the log post gives some idea of that.

The butterfly cue and Ron Thomas case are really cool. I do want an old butterfly, but a more "complete" conversion would catch my eye...butt cap...joint collar...etc. I don't yet have a Thomas case...though.

What do I want? What ya got?

I'll try not to bum this more, there are other's selling/trading. This is a serious thread and it is a serious cue...but I would like to have fun with this and end up with something I like. :)

I'll post pics and specs tonight...right now I am working.:wink:

Sorry about that. Whenever my dad used to say the car was missing, it meant the engine was broken, so naturally I thought... Regarding pool cues, I know "missing" all too well. A bad tip or cracked ferrule I can fix, but missing shots - I guess that's just part of my DNA. I don't have a butterfly, but possibly something else?

I might trade you one of them there Prulhiere cues....I know the guy and get good prices.

Actually, I love collecting nice cues, so if I can work something out, let me know

Wtt

1-Is the Pred. Sp8 new or was there a prior owner?
2-steel joint or wood to wood?
Some pics would help. Thanks

Keep the offers coming!

I am really surprised at the variety of offers.

Shaft: 12.00 mm 4.20 oz
Butt 14.8 oz

She's ding free as far as I can tell. I found one very tiny ding in the butt near the end but could barely see it, very small, only in the finish, and barely the size of a pin head. The finish is almost like new. A little blue on the ferrule, easily cleaned. A little linear scuffing of the stainless joint collar. Cue is in darn nice shape.

Friday night bump for the weekend crowd.

Thank you all for the offers. People have made some amazing offers, I am just not going to move fast. I will make my decision after the weekend.

I am still trying not to add cash...but it is possible.

Things I would still like to see would be Thomas and George cases, especially 2x4. Maybe even an old Fellini? I love Fellini....or other such cases. Vintage Viking, McDermott, and Meucci cues as well as others. A cheap-ish but realistic repair lathe? Hey, I would love to entertain the idea.

I wouldn't mind seeing some high grade blanks as well. I have people in mind that I would turn it over to for completion.

To the cue makers who have talked to me: I will be buying something if I do not take your trade offer. I enjoy your work and value your artistic efforts. My first (made for me) custom cue is in my near future.

This has been quite an experience so far for me. Life has been rough for a while and I have not been in a position to be a buyer. Now I am. This trade is my re-entry to they buying market and I am savoring the moment. Thank you all for understanding that I am not making any snap decisions. Of course, those of you that have made offers can continue to market your items, I have not asked anybody to hold anything. If I don't move fast enough and lose out on a deal you offered me, that is my loss.

Have a great weekend, and if you have an offer to make, please do so, and don't be afraid to think outside the box.

Best regards to the community. :)

One last reminder bump.

Thanks for the PMs everybody!

I'll be making up my mind some time after the week end.

Cues?
Cases?
Combos?

If you are interested, toss your idea to me. :)
