Wonder why they are not there

We heard a lot about the absence of the americans, maybe for AlexP similar reasons, but what about other top notch players like WuJiaQing, KuoPoCheng etc.

Does anybody know if there were qualifier tourneys in there countries..?

Also noticed Jasmin Ouschan didn't play the women's world championship, anyone knows why?

Wu just recently started playing competitively again. I saw him against Efren a few months back and he was very average. Efren had little trouble winning. He just defensed him over and over to discourage Wu, and it worked. It was classic Wily Veteran vs Over-ego Kid.

Wu is in the compulsory service ( military service) in Taiwan now. He will be back in a few months.

Did they finally decide to let Wu go back and do his service? The last I heard there was some controversy over it because he has a PRC passport and is technically not a Taiwanese citizen. Therefore, they were reluctant to have a Chinese citizen serving in the Taiwan military.

That got settled??

He was a Singaporean before that. He came back to his roots i guess.

He never got the Singapore passport although he tried so he could play as a representative of Singapore. That PO'd the Taiwan Billiard Association who then banned him from playing in Taiwan.

At that point he decided to get China passport. A series of bad moves by a talented young man.

He's a poker sucker. :o
The best filipino poker player - Parica! He may be the only one who truly understands the game.

I'm not a great poker player, Jay.....but I'm up a lotta cash, lifetime.
...and Alex plays at a much higher level than me.
I think he's going to take a monster win at poker some day.

...and the man WILL shove his chips...
