How do you get on the 8 from here?

This a trick? Seems simple…low center. Pocket speed should be just about right.

But I’m colorblind so I might be looking at the wrong ball. The dog is here but she didn’t answer.

No trick. The 7 is the ball furthest away (I'm also colorblind). The player played a very rare shot.

How rare , like bank it 1 rail into the 9 and make them both in the 2 corner pockets where he is standing ?
He shot the 7 straight in, but what he did with the CB I've never really seen outside of 3 cushion billiards. I'll link the video in a bit. It was completely unexpected to me.

This is what I thought he would play, depending exactly how thin he was on the 7 for what angle he'd get on the 8. It's hard to tell from this camera angle. He did NOT play this, or any shot mentioned thus far.

Here is what Gersen Martizez played in the finals vs Earl yesterday at Costa Rica. 1:05:59 time stamp if the link does not take you right there.

Musta just been feelin good and let his stroke out.

Nice - likes to let his stroke out.

Had to look him up. Gerson is a 789FR from Peru.

It looks like it should be just a matter of draw with a little outside across table and back off rail 6 inches, or so, for an easy stop shot on the 8 and 9.

That was my first thought as well but it is often best to hit em underpressure rather than finesse a ball so I like his play. Generally a fan of playersletting their stroke out so this is a final ima bookmark for later asEarl has also been know to move the rock.

I've been watching pool like the rest of you guys, and I don't think I've seen this shot more than a couple times in 25 years of accu-stats, YouTube, etc.
maybe the angle on the 7 was bigger than it appears so he figured he'd have too much speed on it hitting it crisp and holding it for a long straightish 8 would leave him babying it. better to hit em for the $. Funny things happen on touchy soft draws.

i guess we have watched different matches
its a power draw shot
i dont see the 3 cushion connection
its not set up as a zig zag shot and there was no around the table
JMHO
ICBW

The zig zag in 3C when you go back and forth a few times across the table to make the point. Its not exactly the same, but similar.

Hitting that last rail on the right is what was not common for this particular shot. The rest of the shot is routine.
