BIH on the 1. The 3 does not go past the 8 or past the 9.

You need to get between the 3B and the rail, or the 8B and the rail, to have a shot on the 3B. The 7B near the top right is a big ball here and precludes you going around 2-3 rails to get the aforementioned position. Plus the 7B sort of precludes going with low right and trying to spin and come down to the aforementioned position.

This is very tough, to get position on the 3B.

Lose the game?

In all seriousness if the only home for the three is the right side pocket, I would probably draw back on the one a little, giving me an angle to pocket the 2 ball in the same pocket and go two rails and end up on the left side of the three. Come up short and I try the 3-9 in the corner. Come up way short and I try the 3-8 in the corner.

But I am just a bar banger who ain't won a game in APA. I am interested to see what the sporty players would do...

Please forgive the graphical suckage.

I'd play it like this. 1B and 2B into top left.

If I can get the perfect angle on the 2, then I'll go for position to pot the 3 in the side (as SARDiver has diagrammed above). If I don't get perfect on the 2, then I'll play position for the dead bank on the 3 to the corner. If I don't get perfect position for the bank, then I'll play the 3-8 carom.

^^^^^^^I like this idea better cuz it takes that annoying blocker ball out of the picture...

Actually, the 3-8 combination doesn't look that difficult. Maybe I'll just do that.

I would make the 1 and 2 in the top corner, and try to get position tomplay the 3 in the side but keeping in mind I can play a safe behind the eight if I'm not perfect.

If I was betting my cash.....one-nine combo
..just working on my game...three-eight combo

Depending on who you play. I know a lot of guys that are out on a 3-8 miss. Too risky. I'm with 3 in the side which was my initial thought.

Shoot the one in the corner 2 rail shape behind the 2 shoot it past the 3 in the corner and drift down for the 3 ,, if you over shoot the shape for the 2 shoot it same corner z rail shape

You are playing the ghost in this scenario.....he is out 100%

Yeah.....never shoot a ball into a pocket 1 foot away when you can shoot it into a pocket 8 feet away :)
