X-Breaker Review

I received my new X-Breaker on Saturday and had plenty of time to test it out. I ordered the Classic maple style without a wrap and let me say that the piece of maple is high quality, I love the look of it. I have been trying out many different breaks in 8ball & 9ball and pretty much no matter where I break from I get a good spread, depending on table conditions. The best three spots for me are from the side rail hitting the first ball, a diamond from the side rail using second ball, and last, but not least is head on. On newer cloth and clean balls head on seems to really get the balls moving and I can control the cueball with it easily. On slow cloth and dirty balls I like to use second ball a diamond from the side rail. I know that this cue has helped me runout a good number games more than the old break cue. With the old one I would break, make some balls, and still have a cluster, which made it harder to run out. Now with the X-Breaker it leaves a wide open spread and makes it easier for me to runout. Jumping with the X-Breaker is a breeze, I can't believe how easy it is to get the cueball up with minimal effort. It gets the cueball up fast with little force. Jumping with it helped me runout one game on Saturday for sure, I was hooked by my own ball and instead of trying a difficult combo I went for the easy jump and ranout. The cue is a step towards better breaking and jumping for me and many others. Richard is really a nice guy to talk to and treats customers very well. The cue was shipped in about a week and a half. Well worth the money. Anyone looking to buy one should check out his site that has pictures, videos, and specs. www.xtremebilliard.com

Thanks again Richard for the cue.

thanks for the review.......im just curious what other break sticks youve used if any and how they compare to the xbreaker

I have tried quite a few break cues. Valleys, J&J's, Cuetec, Predator. They can all break, but whenever I use them I am left with clusters most of the time. Now with the X-Breaker that problem is corrected on most of my breaks.

Nice review, kidd-o. Well put together:)
Tell us about it again in a month or 2, once that tip gets some use to it, it plays even better. You will also be more knowledgeable about its capabilities, so it will be even more effective.
Good choice!

Tanner,
Thank you very much. I am glad the X Breaker is working for you.

It is very interesting when you mentioned about cluster. Pei Wei Chang from Chinese Taipei (1st runner up in 2004 World Pool Championship, Gold Medalist in World Game 2005) told us that in his level of competition, the break is the key.

Mr. Chang said he has lost a lot of tournaments when his break was not working for him. He told us he knew he could do exactly what his opponent was doing and may be even more, but the break had kept him in his chair.

Like you said, if there are more cluster of balls on the table, it makes running out much more difficult.

I would like to wish you the very best in the league, the VNEA Nationals and the Junior Nationals. Thank you for choosing the X breaker.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review here. Much appreciated.;)

I have been using my X-Breaker a lot for two weeks now and like it more and more each time out. One thing that I have noticed is that when I really let 'er rip on the break, the cue ball stays on the table. In the past it was a 50-50 chance that people wouldn't be ducking. Same thing when I jump, I had a tendency to foul a lot, so much so that my old jump cue was given a name - "Ball in Hand". Not anymore, now I will have to figure out a new name as there are very few fouls anymore when I jump. The cue has paid for itself already.
