I hope promotors are taking note of the amount of interest in this type of match-up. who would you like to see next?

Efren/Wu would be big IMHO

What ye say?

I think a team challenge event would be interesting, to see which country is the best, like the Mosconi Cup.

But rather than a tournament format, make it a money match, with players coming up with their own cash, and film it like a TV reality show.

I like to see Yang, and Wu, against Orcullo, and Van van, for may be $90,000 per team, winner takes all.

No matter what format, I think it would sell big time in Asia to film it as a reality show, not just a tournament.

Great idea! It's working for the Ultimate Fighting Championship on the reality show they have.

Efren vs Wu would be neat. My 1st pick, however, would be Fong Pang Chao vs Efren. Precision vs creativity.

From what I hear, they're discussing a Ronnie Alcano-Wu Chia-Ching match as the next offering. Double world champion vs double world champion. I'd like to see this one.

For now, however, if Yang takes his match against Dennis, everyone (including myself) would want to see him pitted against another player. Yes, he could be the best money game player of the world right now.

Just like Richard, I would like to see a Team Challenge. I'll call it "The Powerhouse of Asia Team Challenge".

1) Philippines
2) Taiwan
3) Japan
4) Korea

I would like it to be like Mosconi Cup, but with multi-discipline games and not just 9-Ball.

I would HATE to see team matches since the individual matches will all be short races

the beauty of this type of one on one long race is that luck is minimized

I'd love to see more of Yang vs other Phillipinos, eventually working his way to Efren, and once he loses, I'd like to see Fong Pang Chao take his place

I love this Taiwan/Phillipines rivalry, great for pool

The best would be for this format to run forever like the world title in boxing and have the champion keep defending

No Alex. He visited taiwan every year, but I have never heard he won any money game here.

I think a reality show format, which shows the emotions of the players before and after the matches would be very interesting.

Sort of like, "Explore the mind of the best pool hustler..." It can be sold to the non pool public as well.

I also think the money is kind of not really that big, for this to be called a "big" money match. After all, the difference between winning and losing was only $5000. It is actually a race to 60, three days, for $5000 between the two, from the player's point of view, so it is not like the most money they have ever played for.

If it was winner takes all, and the money was not posted by the organizor but rather came up by each player, it would be more realistic and exciting, in my opinion.

We can take the teams to a location (e.g. Vegas) and have them stay there, film them everyday.

I prefer team because it may be boring to film only two players for a very long period of time. With many players, you get more characters, more emotions, and more variety for the viewers to enjoy.

Rodney is the only US player the Taiwanese fears from what I was told.

I don't think it matters what country, in a 9-ball money match Rodney is very feared. I think it has to do with the big break factor - like Yang. I overheard before that even the filipino's wouldn't fancy a money game with him in 9-ball. Remember, he came outta nowhere to win the Us Open in 1996 beating Efren in the finals!

I believe Alex and Rodney have played for money a few times with each winning on different occasions. Parica told me about 2 years ago that he himself gave Rodney the 8 and they broke even, Efren gave Rodney the 7 and lost, and Bustamante gave Rodney the 8 and won. Parica said that this happened several years earlier and that now Rodney would be the favorite against all 3 in an ahead set. Parica said that the only player in the world that would be an even match for Rodney in an ahead set was Alex. This was before I had ever heard of Yang or Orcollo, so I did not ask about them. I did ask about Lee Van Corteeza and Parica said Lee Van had beaten Alex, but now Alex and Rodney would be the favorite over Lee Van in an ahead set. Again this was at least 2 years ago.

Rodney Morris vs Yang race to 60 :) I wouldnt know who to pick

I will take Yang and give you 4 games and i will do the same with WU. I dont think Rodney has had his best game the last few years and you better be at your peak to beat either of those guys in a long race.

A team event would be great, if this can't be organized I would like to see Yang vs Efren.

I believe Yang was quoted as saying he would like to play Efren next. I would like to see him play Alex, Rodney, Van van, Bustamante, or Efren; but I would rather see a rematch with Dennis playing 10-ball on a tight diamond without brand new cloth.
