Yang vs. Orcullo

Heck no, lol. I was just implying that anything is possible like you said.

To be honest, at first I thought nobody could beat Orcullo, after seeing him play a few times. He was like a machine, did everything perfectly. At that time, I had only seen one match of Yang's, and some snippets of footage on the internet. I thought nobody could beat Dennis, especially with all the stories I heard about how he was giving monster spots to pros at the DCC.

About a month ago, I was fortunate to borrow a few DVD's from a friend who had footage of Yang playing in the WPC, since '03 to '05. I watched four matches, and the way that he played was astounding. I realized how naive I was. I think Yang plays right at the same level of Orcullo. So basically I'm not rooting for anyone, I just hope that some amazing pool is played, so I can buy the DVD or video whenever the heck it's available!! LOL :D

Dennis still has a few aces up his sleeve. Im sure we'll all be surprised tomorrow :)

Hahahahahaha. Am I dreaming or what? Well, it's kind of like buying into a $1,000 Hold'em tournament and going broke on the first hand. It happens! I just "bubbled" (last player out before the money) in a $1,500 tourney at the Bike (Bicycle Casino) two weeks ago. That cost me $1,850. So, I'm used to punishment.

I did chop a $500 tournament last week at Hollywood Park. It was a Seniors event (over 50) and won $1,480, almost enough to cover my losses here.

I really truly believed in Dennis' invincibility, and he had beaten Yang twice before for big money. Well, it's a new day and there is a new dog in town. And his name is Yang! I for one, look forward to seeing this guy play. If he is pounding Dennis like this, he must be the best player in the world. It sounds like Dennis just got weak, which is what happens when a player realizes he is mismatched.

I may try to put on a big event in L.A. and invite Yang over here. Well, let me make sure I have everyone's address, and get the checks ready. I'd say Dennis' chances of winning are about 3%, and the chance of his covering the bet, less than 1%. Not good odds!

To all you guys that just robbed me, thanks for the action. I'll get you next time.

The fat lady aint singing yet Jay...but she might be clearing her throat some a lil..

I'll give ya props in any event, it takes some nads to step up and announce that the betting window is open to the world.

It aint over but good sport.

Im dieing to see yang play here in the states. the last time he was here was for the Big Apple tournament at masters years ago. if he comes here now he can play the mexican aka chavez. i know who i will bet on.

Thanks guys. I have everyone's address except for Shane S. and Lee Chenman. Please PM them to me.

Interesting, two New Yorkers (damn Yankees) and two from Florida (and I think Shane is Florida based as well). Looks like the East Coast is smarter than the West Coast. Not sure where Lee calls home.

If this ends as expected tomorrow, The checks will be in the mail by Monday. I have a busy weekend, poker tourney on Saturday, and helping Tang with the 1K added tourney at Hollywood Billiards on Sunday.

I'll tell you one thing. I pay off better than the IPT.

40 - 28

That breaks down to yang getting 12 games on the wire in a race to 32 !

It'a actually worse than that. Dennis must beat him 32 to 14 from here, for me to cover my bet. So at this point, Yang is getting 18 games!

Anyone want to settle for 60 cents on the dollar right now? Haha

I'll send you my address if I win...it ain't over yet :) I dont like to count my chickens and all that, but it does look good for Yang at this point I must say.

Good luck at the table on Saturday and tell Tang I said hi.

It is wrong - this is the first time Orcullo playing with Yang.

It is a pity that Yang only played asian tours and some great international tours organized by WPA, and it must be a very difficult task to persuade him to take a long-distance trip to USA.

No one on earth figures to destroy Yang. No one figures to destroy Dennis either but it can happen.

If anyone wants to see the best match ever played, see the Bustamante/Yang WPC match 2003-give or take a year.

2002. thats when they package each other like crazy.

the match before that was yang archer. yang ran out the set with a clean up and 6 pack i think. semis and quarters.

i have the clip of the busta and yang .. but not the whole match. i tried to get matchroom to sell me it.. but they said its not availble in email.

do you have either of the full matches.. ?

No- I just assumed it was out there on the net somewhere.

I was actually privileged to be there live in one of the great WPC seats in Cardiff. Never seen anything like it before or since. As i remember Yang was the favorite to win it all that year.

No-It was Theater seating. I was square to the table and maybe 5 rows back. It was perfect.:)

My memory is pretty shot but that match stays with me. I even remember Yang's face as he broke down his cue.
