and cant figure out what the little green dots mean below everyones name, i appologise for such a stupid question, but please understand I just want to be a informed member, well liked and respected here, thats all. And I dont know how/why they appear. thanks in advance for answereing mt silly question, moving foward I'll keep the dumb questions to a minimum. However my spelling is hopeless, i missed that class I was at the pool room-yes I play better than I spell but that dosent make me a champion,

At the top of my game I was a solid 8 in Phoenix in 92 for you guys who know about that rating system. Honestly know that I'm more mentally mature and have $$$ I truely believe I'll become a better player than ever within a year, i retired in 94 and played some ever since but nothing serious, except for a 2 months in 2000 and I played solid then.

I have made a number of posts here and never introduced myself but have had some PM's with established members and this is a great board, the members did me a couple favers i need to follow up on, my back is very bad now, i'm 40 and had 2 operations since may over 6 hours each and one more soon, i stopped the gym because of my health and started to play again for thearapy, but I'm gonna keep playing......"I'm back!"

Those dots are reputation points. If its green it means good read means a bad rep. You can give people rep points for posting.

You see the "User CP" button in the upper left corner of the page right under the AZ Billiards logo?

Hit that button and it will show you what threads and posts you got rep points for and in some cases the person who gave you the points will make comments.

If you want to give someone rep points for a good post just look at the bottom of their posts and you will see rep's button.

so its not a function of number of posts but given to each other for good posts etc? i'm not trying to belabor the point just to learn, again thanks in advance. I want to be a great member of this community, not a post whore or start arguments, rather share my experiences and knowlege with others, I'm a very experienced rail bird, and play fair-not do to lack of playing.Just lack of talent, but I can get out when I need to, I never exaggerate anything and if I dont have an answer I dont make things up, i'll admit I just dont know.

I have ran around with some road players in spots but again never played well enough to go on the road myself, now days I have no reason too. I hope to earn everyones respect here. You'll never catch me in a argument as I keep the internet a happy place.

Fatboy aka Eric

PS. I waited until I had 100 posts before I introduced myself, if anyone had any questions this is the thread.

i like it, admiting you just don' t know thing that is. i get tired of people trying to make something up that sounds good enough to pass for the truth. i'm sure you'll like what you read here, and while i'm not a seasoned vet here like some of the posters, welcome

I don't see it??? What does it look like?

the buttons

There is a small button labeled "rep" unerlined in blue and another labeled
"bad" underlined in orange. They are to the bottom left of the post.

If you look under your "smileys" in your last post you will see them.

You're prolly using the AZBilliards Vb 3 Style board, switch to Tech Two
board and you'll see.

You're correct. Found the setting and made the switch. Tanks.....Paul

P.S. You get a rep point

There is no such thing as a stupid question!

If there is something I do not understand, I *always* ask questions. And I have learned a lot over the years by doing this.

Sometimes someone will ridicule me for asking a certain question, but I could care less. I just ignore that person and go ask someone else.

I have learned one thing from asking questions. That is there is usually another person who is wondering about the same thing!

On the old style board which I use the rep button is beside the post # up in top right hand corner of the post.

oh yeah man i forgot, where you from?

LA and Vegas, I did most of my playing in Modesto up to Sacramento from 85 to 91 then Vegas then LA, before I retired from pool, I did play a year in LA in 94, Been around the country and player in alot of rooms, I never played good enough to "Make it". I was an action player, no tournments(I play bad it them for some reason), however now that I'm older and more mellow I probably could be better in them. My mental game is stronger than ever but I still dont play like I did before, I played for a couple months in 2000 and hit'em good, but work got in the way so since then I have played here and there,

I started playing again because my back is very bad and I cant go to the gym anymore , i put down the cue in 94 and got into body building, but thats impossible so I play pool again, but I cant play for more than 2 hours on a good day. I'm taking a light hearted approach to pool now-something I never did before and It seem to be working each day I play i'm hitting them alot better. Years ago I was too serious and that I know hurt my game, I think in 2-3 months I'll be where I was and then I'm gonna take some lessions from someone. My fundementals are sound, I know what I like in a cue etc, its the concentration that needs worked on

great forum

If you like the old AZB 3 style, then the way to give reps is by clicking on the scale icon located next to the post #.
