Thanks Jimmy for telling this story like it really was. Fats saved the day for the pool players, I remember that part very well. He absolutely was the most amazing talker of all time! He was like the Pied Piper, when he started talking the rest of the world came to a halt. Even Muhammed Ali called Fats The Greatest on the Carson show! I was around him many, many times I never got tired of listening to his speeches. I'm so fortunate to have been around Pool in that era. And I will never forget our little road trips in California, you, me and Barbara. It was the late 60's and you would take on anyone at any game. I loved your confidence and you only got better with time.

I remember Buddy telling a great story about you. You were playing a Ring Ten Ball game with all top players and you were killing the game. He said you never missed a ball for about ten hours. Then you finally missed one and looked at Buddy and said "I'm out of stroke today!" We started out together at a young age and in some ways you mentored me, even though I was a couple of years older. I smoked weed for the first time with you - THANKS! And you and Barbara saved me when I was on a bad acid trip. Oh one more fun thing, after you beat The Rack in Detroit for over 60K, you drove back to Los Angeles in the coolest Caddy convertible. You picked me up and we cruised the Sunset Strip with the top down, laughing and joking and passing a joint ! You had like $40,000 in the glove compartment, a real fortune back then. I know you remember this stuff as well. I love you Jimmy! Thanks for all the great memories.
