I woke up this morning with my heart pounding.
I just came out of a dream in which I was playing a money set with a girl and a good-sized crowd had circled the table to watch. We were playing pretty even when all of a sudden she caught a gear AND started getting all the rolls and I started looking smaller and smaller in her rear view mirror. The whipping was underway but I'm no quitter and I was trying my hardest to stay in the picture, to no avail.
Toward what would have been near the end of the set, I went to my case to retrieve my break cue and was stunned to see that my BK2 and my back up Scruggs player were missing from my case. Oh no, they even stole my jump cue!
Now, I'm making my way out to the street to see if I could find the thief with my cues in tow (yeah right, that not gonna happen) when I see a pool player friend of mine who is at the hotel's lobby door decked out in a jester outfit, complete with the triple pointy hat and he's juggling pool balls. Not regular ones either, these were Aramith pro TV balls.
He somehow manages, in the middle of his juggling act, to tell me "he went thataway" as he quickly pointed to the street. I went out there and after just a few minutes, the reality sunk in that my stuff was gone and short of a lucky hit at one of the local pawn shops, I'd been had.
Then I remembered that my case and remaining gear were still upstairs by the table, left unattended. Plus, I wondered is the girl who I was playing gonna think this was some kind of move since she was so close to collecting my money?
Mercifully, I woke up, still breathing fast, then the angst gives way to happiness that it was just a bad dream and not only was my equipment still safe, but also, that I didn't really lose the set.
Happy Father's Day To Me & ALL of you AZ Fathers out there!
Enjoy your day.
My sons will be here in 15 minutes, we're going fishing.

Best,
Brian kc
