Who do you want to win the open? My choice would be Parica.Especially after last years so close finish.
(VBookie start the future odds on winning the open) lol

The funny part is, the only player I know is my husband. So, I think I'll go with him. :D

Several of your post suggest you have about as much interest in pool as my wife does, I have to lasso her to get to watch a match. :D

How can anybody here go with other that John "Rude Dog" "Hurricane" Morton (I'm going to get him a new nickname yet). Of course, he doesn't need to win I'm sure you live off the income from the MORTON Salt Co. :D

If by some amazing fluke he doesn't win, I guess I would have to pick Johnny Archer (but root for my favorite Efren Reyes if he's there).

Archer, Strickland, Pagulayan and Morris are my top four. Reyes, Parica and Bustamante will place well. I would love to see Archer and Strickland meet in the finals with Strickland winning his 6th US Open.
The only time I can remember Strickland and Archer in a finals was back somewhere in the mid 90's with strickland basting archer 13-3 (i will have to check a back issue of P&B mag).

keith has a new cue, he played great last year, I am pulling for him to take it all this year

Archer is red hot and probably playing the best 9-ball in the world, but the open has always been tough for him.

Keith is like me(on a MUCH higher level), he just needs to decide that he wants to win, and then he is capable of beating all of those guys as he showed us last year. But, he can't be comfortable with 3rd place like last year and give up.

Efren and Busta, well honestly, I think that they can win any time they want to, so I wouldn't be afraid to bid on either one of them a little in the calcutta.

If this was 1997, I would just give the title to Rodney.

Earl is a Gold Crown winner, I don't think we'll see him win the open as long as they are playing on Diamond tables. I know that sounds stupid, but we haven't seen him in the winners circle of any of these tournaments played on the Diamond tables.

Hopefully we won't get tortured by a Kid Delicious/Jeremy Jones final, they would have to add an extra day to the open.

Look out for the veterans. With a combination of sheer desire to win, years of seasoning and some nice rolls, we could easily see someone who hasn't yet won the open in the finals. ie Jim Rempe.

Although mentally he's a little weak, if he stays on the winners side, Jose Garcia is capable of beating anyone in the world and is subject to do at any time. He came close many times last year, and I know he wants to win a tournament.

My official pick to win the open is Alex Pagulayan.

Well, if my husband doesn't win, then I hope his good friend Rodney Morris does. They both went through a lot together in the past and even though I haven't met him yet, he's my second favorite player.

That picture is like a nightmare! LOL... very funny picture. You have a pic for everything Keith.

Form says it's Archer, Jeremy Jones, Rodney Morris or Alex Pagulayan, though of the four, the one on fire is Archer, who I think has to be viewed as the one to beat this year.

Of those four, however, the one I'd like to see win is Rodney Morris. I really enjoyed watching Rodney play before the sizable interruption in his career. It's great having him back and playing well, and it would make for a great story if Rodney were, once again, to capture the very event he won to validate his status as a rising superstar in the mid 1990's.

Rodney, double hill over Rude Dog in the final. If only.....

My pick is Luc Salvas or Craig Cochrane, craig plays at my local hall so hes my fav, and luc is the only pro i have met in my short Career

efren - he's an all time favorite.
busta - hasn't won anything big for some time; winning the us open could be a start of a streak for him.
mika - another elite player yet to win the us open.
alex pagulayan - though he just lost the final of on cue to efren, alex seems to be in good form and very consistent.
ralph - just wishing well for the great player and nice person.

Keith, great outfit. Are you planning to wear that at the Open. Only you could pass the dress code with it. Good luck to all the players this week. Sam
