Shakey, you were lucky to get your table delivered and installed.I`am still waiting and it`s been 9 months. I don`t have any idea on a time-line as I am on ignore mode, phone and e-mails,lol,Don`t even know where the table is and if it`s in somebody else`s house.Enclosed a pic of my living room,it`s been that way for 6 months, since i sold my Connelly table,as he was coming in a (couple of weeks). Also have had to go back on my pills because of the stress of it all, guess I should have paid a little more and had it 9 months ago.

You're NOT on ignore and you know it, AND you know your table is at the Diamond factory, but I don't have time to answer all your PM's because I'm working right now. I've already told you I've talked to Josh about having him deliver and set up your table, but he can't pick it up until after the 1st of the year...and told you this a few days ago as I told you I have to go to TX to work on some Diamond tables. So, I AM looking out for you, and doing everything I can to get you your table, I can't help that you live in Canada...LOL

And, your time-line is off by 3 months buddy, didn't pick your table up until the end of May when I was coming through Indiana on the way to the Diamond factory, in which I picked up your table May 24th, and your table arrived there on May 25th, and you were quite clear that you were in no rush to get the table to you, only that you wanted it picked up before it got sold to someone else.

Josh has told me he could not do it till after Feb.,if he could do it at all, depend if Diamond have other tables coming this way for him. Also he would need the rails recalibrated and the extensions done before he can pick up and deliver.Yes I know the Houston job is big bucks, but the little men are the army, and we get put on the back burner all the time and it really sucks after being let down, time and time again. It`s like a hottie you keep asking out and cancells at the last minite.I`ave been stood up over ten times and you know it!When you did the Elks Club in Colarado Springs, you where on your way as soon as I finnish this job, and every other time you would say"I`am on my last table to do and than I`am loading up and on my way to you"

Table was purchased on April 13th.,after I contracted you for pick-up,recalibrate and install.Table was picked up May 23rd. in Fishers Indiana,as the owner was moving and worried you wouldn`t show. From his storage to Diamond storage is all that has happened to this pocket table. How long is reasonable?JB cases ships out on Monday and the case arrives on Wed. morning here at the Canadian New-York border. When I had the Connelly, there was no hurry, but when you said you where coming and I sold it,at a lose for a quick sale in June 2011 it became more important.Everyone deserves a screw-up and I`am sure most, would agree that this is just that, and also customer abuse. If my table was sitting here, I could wait forever, but it is not,and can`t afford to purchase another and absorb the loses.

I told you, you're getting your table before I leave for TX, and you will one way or another, even if I have to have Diamond box up and ship you the table.

Relax buddy, the season is a washout for me,hoping though that I can start to hit some balls soon and prepare for next year.I apoligise to Shakey for stealing his thread.I didn`t want to bring this on the forums, but it`s the only way to get attention.Josh would have brought the table when he came one hour away from me,but it was not ready at that time, I`am hoping you will get it ready when you get back to the factory. Also In Oct. and also in Nov. I also was told "one way or the other you will have your table this month",I can only hope this is true.Till than the dogs have a lot of playroom

I also contacted a mechanic from here at the end of March to pick up,deliver and install a table, with the same "in a couple of weeks",that was six and a half months ago.He keeps promising and than ignores pm`s,this pattern seems to continue and when your hopes are up,he seems to do other jobs making me feel unimportant and the job irrelevant. In the waiting time I`ave removed a wall, drywalled and painted the room.Like Shakey at this point I have lost all interest in playing, considering selling my cue`s and cases, lol. Some members on the forum thinks this is funny, but it`s not there table or hard earned money!Unlike Shakey I do not want any free perks,I just want my table....and truthfully at this point I really don`t care.

Glen says I was in no hurry, but on Sept 15th. 2011,I was fed up with the runaround,as stated in the quote above, Sept 15th.Anyone out in the AZ community have any idea`s or sugestions?

I feel abandoned on the forum,I guess 9 months and still waiting for a 800 mile delivery is normal and acceptable for a pool table? sometimes I feel it will never come and that i will be out the table and the delivery fee. Would appreciate opinions and comments as the title of this thread. thanks AZB`ers.

Ian, I told you I"d be back at Diamond today...and I am, I told you I'd get you your table before I take off to TX...which will be next week. I talked to Brian and Aaron today about sending something else with me to the NE so I can take your table with me...they're working on it, should know more tomorrow. I told you I'd have Diamond ship you the table...you don't want it shipped because you're worried about the table getting damaged.

This is the last few comments between us, as you can see by your last comment...I thought everything was OK...but by your statement above, I guess not. So now, guess what...when I get to the border with your table...that's as FAR as I'm going to go with it....so, have someone meet me at the border to transfer your table to...so they can finish bringing it to you...and you can find someone else to set your table up locally...THAT is what we agreed to in the first place...and NOW...that's what we're going to stick to.

RKC
If only it was that easy. The snooker table that Jay is going to set up, is still sitting at the Diamond factory because the guy that bought it...isn't finished with the construction being done to his house to make ready for the snooker table. I spoke with him about 2 weeks or so ago, he won't be ready until about the first of March...so, it sits and waits. Andy left the factory with a full load of Diamond tables, as in no more room for tables to be put on. Diamond saves up single table deliveries until they can me a delivery run of the load, then all the tables leave on that run at the same time. I'll be at the factory tomorrow, they're back to work on Monday. I'll ask Brian if there's ANYTHING heading to the NE that I can take and deliver quickly before I have to take off for TX. The only other option is to have Diamond ship you the table as I've already said.

Ian
I would rather wait, than ship, shipping ussually means damage.I`ave waited this long,I want delivery and professional installation,so that everything is just right. Also accept my apoligies,at times i get over excited. If a few more dollars would help,I can dig a little deeper, let me know. Ian

I think after this long the original deal is void, and things where ok.I was only looking for opinions and if this was a normal waiting period,or if it was not. Some encourgement from the members.I don`t accept that after this long.

If it's only 800 miles away

I would have driven down and gotten it myself about 6 months ago and called it a lesson learned. At some point no matter how much RKC has strung you along you have to stop snivelling and man up. It's not like a cue someone is building for you which you have no control over. It's sitting there with your name on it, go get it and get over it.

There is table owners that wait for years for glen to become available,

All service business is self regulating. As wait times increase, demand always decreases until a natural balance is reached. If this balance starves the service provider they quit or change how they do things. One lesson most of us providing a service learn is that we can't be everything to everyone. But we also can strive to do what we say we will, when we say we'll do it for those we choose to serve. Fail at this and you're going to have angry people who could care less how good others say you are.

I'd like to see anyone pick up a 3 piece slate Pro8 Diamond Professional, rebuild the rails, replace the cushions with Artemis Intercontinental cushions, supply the Simonis cloth as well, then drive the table 1,800 miles round trip to delivier the table at 7mpg diesel prices...round trip for $1,700...as a lone table job. This is why the table hasn't left the Diamond factory as of yet, so it can be delivered with other Diamond tables to help offset the cost. The cost of moving my truck is...without paying me as a driver....a $1.00 a mile:angry:

Table

Buddy' he will never run outa work......no one else on this planet could do his jobs the way he does the work, he travels in a truck and delivers tables, works on private owners tables as he delivering tables from the factory...he don't leave till the table is done A+, tables he works on require a lot of time to repair/rebuild so he gets backed up here or there...... Then he offers to cross the boarder into Canada to deliver your table; that task rite there is huge to get over the boarder with tools....every tool must be itemized that he takes across with him...and he has a truck load of tools! Butttttt' glen puts you on the list of tables he will personally deliver and set up..... Not to side track' one question for anyone' why do you go to work everyday? For the paycheck! Rite? Ok, he can only do the work in a certain order to be worth the trips or he won't make a dime with the price of fuel/travel expenses , so I don't blame him for choosing the best times and places to deliver/work to cut costs.....
As for a table delivered to your home via shipping company is a great idea' diamond ships there tables all over the map for tournament use by the semi trailers full....but once it gets to your house you call a moving company to place the table on your home, level the table and rack em up'

Enjoy'

How are you in business? Do you donate all the supplies and your time?

Most, if not all people have no idea what it costs to live on the road. When Diamond sends tables out to be delivered, the pricing for delivery & setup is one way, meaning there's nothing quoted to the customer about the cost of the truck(s) returning to the factory, which just about costs the same returning as it costs to leave on the delivery run. Now, add in the cost of hotels and food on the road. Add in the cost of oil changes, tires, brakes, repair parts like batteries, alternators, fuel pumps, tires, tolls, DOT charges which varies from state to state...etc.... Yes, I live in my truck to help offset the cost of hotels, but even I stay in hotels when it's so damn cold out that I can't keep my truck warm to stay in it. When I work on tables on the side, during delivery runs, it's more of a thing I like to do, because I enjoy it, not because I have to. But even still, most of the money I make working on pool tables on the side goes toward the costs of getting back to the Diamond factory. I'd make a hell of a lot more money if I was just an "installer" moving and setting up pool tables coming in from China locally at $350 a job, doing 2 jobs a day. Sometimes it can take 2-5 days to rebuild a set of rails and go through and tear the table frame and slate down, just to turn around and set it back up right, so that when you reinstall the rebuilt rails on it...it plays right. So, in most cases I only average maybe $200 a day doing what I love to do. My interests are in the Diamond 9ft billiard table, and promoting the sales of it, because that DOES pay a hell of a lot more when it comes to making a living than working on pool tables, but still...I'm not going to give up one for the other, not when I enjoy doing them both so much.

To those that want to knock me, or my work...that's fine. But trust me, you wouldn't want to go heads up with me when it comes to doing what I do for a living, as I've seen enough of your work to know...you're better off staying "installers"...instead of trying to be a table "mechanic". It's to bad that the words "table mechanic" are used so commonly with the same meaning....when there's such a big difference between being an "installer" vs being a real "table mechanic" you'd have to give up a lot in life to get where I"m at right now...and I don't know anyone so willing to do that except myself. Ask Zach in Arizona what it's like to live on the road with me, he'll tell you....because he got a little taste of it...in order to learn what he now knows....as he's also a "table mechanic"....who also works as an "installer" when needed.

Glad I am an installer.:rotflmao1:
