I was pondering this the other day as this elderly person was playing pool.

You know how a lot of tournament pool players are, complain, moan, etc, so I have an idea how this might come out.

What if someone wanted to play, but just couldn't break the balls, not even to get a few balls beyond the side pocket.

They wanted to play in the tournament and said to the tournament director, or their opponent, you can pick the person to break each set for me, or you can break for me.

What would be your opinion just on the idea of this.

Cover it during the players meeting. Explain the situation. If there's a big fuss then he can't play. If the majority agree then explain who will be breaking for him. Ideally it should be a player that is not in the tournament.

Otherwise, hold a 14.1 or One Pocket tournament and the elder player in question might just surprise the field. :)

I'm elderly, so are a lot of players that I do battle with. We all crack the balls pretty good. I can't imagine a man so handicapped by his age
wanting to pay money to play in a tournament. But If it's not a hustle
then let the TD break for him.

I cant imagine anyone being that frail that they cant get 2 balls to pass mid table. But if thats the case somehow, I wouldnt complain if he spotted me all the breaks. I need everything I can get!

Good answer. Be fluid.
