What's your favorite? I've tried a few of these, and looking to try a few more. Just curious. Let's say primary game is (8 Ball) but really its the Play Format & Rule set that is most important.

Pick your poison! (If you don't like any or don't have league expereince, ignore this thread!) ;)

So far I have played TAP 8-ball, BCA 8-ball and a Charity league that uses APA rules...

If I had to choose one it'd have to be TAP only because you at least get a chance to get rolling....Meaning you play a race to your handicap. The score keeping and the sand baggers are the only downsides to TAP in my opinion.

BCA...well its okay, but the thing I don't like is you play one game then wait 30-40 min and play one game then repeat (you play a total of 4 games playing each person on the opposing team once)...

The Charity League is kind of fun...the way its formatted is you play the opposing team two races to 5...again you have to play one game and then sit and wait until your turn in the rotation again.

I play VNEA league, no handicaps except the masters. You only play 3 games a night, no races, but that being said there is no sandbagging. Everyone just tries to play their best.

I like NAPA's laggers choice. You get to choose your game, 8, 9 or 10 ball. You don't get bogged down playing the same game all the time.

thanks!

Thank you for casting votes! I'll be sure to bump this again down the road once NAPA & GPPA have more time on the scene.

its going to suprise the guys who know me as being a staunch supporter of apa on here.

napa is my fav league.

to me its combines the best of what i think apa and bcapl has to offer.

never played in other leagues so i cant comment on them. just apa, bcapl and napa so far.

napa provides a race to your handicap ... i never cared much for playing a rack.... waiting 30 or 40 min playing another rack.... rinse and repeat. never cared for playing points based 8 ball either.... the same as apa 9 ball to me.

napa offers the format serious players like... open after break, call shot, one other thing from apa also is a scratch on break cue ball is spotted behind the line but every thing else is pretty much bcapl rules.

If they get people interested in play and increase play, they are all good. There are actually More in house leagues not associated with Any organizations per John Lewis.

This ... all of this. I've only played APA and NAPA (nothing else available in my area) - but the format of NAPA and the call-ball/pocket rules, combined with the open after the break ... perfect. And the races are decent length. :)
