Your vote for most exciting game of 9 ball

Not even close. I have two games that vie for the most exciting ever played. First, the ninth rack run by Bob Vanover to win the Texas Open....Second, the tenth rack run by Earl in the Million Dollar Challenge.

One specific game....not entire match. This is one of my favorites.
Starts at 25 min 20 sec.

That Mosconi cup 2012 was excellent for intensity. The final day with USA up against a wall, those first three matches...Johnny archer, Dennis hatch, and Shane are amazing in pressure situations. The victory roar Shane lets out when he kicks combination the nine in is awesome with the intensity. I saved those in HD and watch them all the time.

off the top of my head, the last several racks in the WPA World Nine ball final Peach vs Gomez

Peach vs earl in 2007. What isn't there in this match? It's got everything. Angry crowd, angry players, angry referee. Trash talking, jiving, and ultimate pressure play. Then the cherry on top is the peach interview afterwards where he calls earl a piece of garbage. Intense!

I believe the op asked about a single game, sir.
But those matches you speak of are still great!

Haha ok ok...But they are all so damn good! This is like Sophies choice...Just can't do it....

I'll go with the final rack of that Shane match 2012. Pressure cooker situation you can feel right through the screen.

Well, there were many great racks – been played by all top players…
…but this ONE :happydance: will EVER will come to my mind if anyone asks me.

Never seen so many spectacular shots made by both in just one rack! :bow-down:
Have a look at all the people (standing ovations)! I think Bill Incardona can tell a story!

It's the "Sudden Death" of the ICOC 2001
Both players have won one set – and this rack is the decider!
Winner takes home $30.000.-

To me some the most exciting games are the ones with great safety battles that go back and forth a bunch of times with great safes. They always have you on the edge of your seat. This is pretty decent one that has been posted before many times but there have been others that were longer and better.

I seem to recall a game that Chin Shun Yang played that had a great safety battle and maneuvering and maybe some shot making but can't think of who the opponent was so I would probably never be able to find it.

That ICOC match was memoriable. I remember watching that match as a kid on espn. One rack for 30k and you come with a jump shot to get out? I might have crapped myself on those last two shots lol

Everything posted was good. That's why I started this thread. Keep em coming!

I posted this a while ago but this is a good place for it. Another one of my favorites.

Definitely one of the best in pool history, game and final match..
There's also a great one in Reyes-Strickland "Color of money" challenge, in which Reyes pockets a ball playing off cushion with inside english, in order to create a specific 3 cushion route for CB position. First game here:

Mike Carella playing Larry Hubbard early 70's. They were playing for $3000.00 a game 9 ball and Hubberd had just went on a streak and won like 7 in a row. The next game Hubbard is running out and scratches on the 8.

In those days you shot from behind the line and Carella has ball in hand behind the line. The 8 ball is no sooner spotted when Carella fires it in taking like 2 strokes and gets out. He then goes on to win game after game ultamitaly makeing Hubbard quit at about the -$30,000.00 mark.

It was just so impressive how Carella was so unshaken under the pressure. I never forgot that one game he so confidently made that spot shot.

Unfortunately most of these after hours private matches are lost to time except for the few who were there to see them.

That rack shows exactly why two things should not be in the game. Rules about how many balls need to pass a spot and jump cues.

US made a ball, almost made 2, but only one ball passed the headstring so they had to turn over the table.

Neils hooked his partner behind a ball, but no worries, we have jump cues. Pop and the mistake is negated.

That game should not have been played the way it was. Really hope the WPA puts in a real cue length rule in the books. No jump cue length cues and no trees.

I had never seen this before and this was awesome! Talk about a pressure packed final game. Considering the circumstances, the shot Efren made on the 7 was insane! Talk about trusting your instincts. He was out of line after the 2 ball and just came with it. The announcers and crowd were great too!

Are you kidding me?
Arguably the MOST exciting rack ever is this one:

Starts at 103:20

LISTEN TO ALL THE COMMENTARY IN ORDER TO GET AN IDEA OF THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS GAME.
OH, AND ALSO WATCH THE INTERVIEW AFTERWARDS—CLASSY.

Who can come up with a better one?
Tell me, who?
