Cues by the well known high end makers that have per ban genuine ivory inlays, ferrules, joints, or butts ARE going to double in value over the next several years. You've been warned, buy now while ya can, and don't cry later that you missed the boat.

Just don't try to sell it 5-10 years from now. Ivory bans of all types are only going to get more intrusive.

As the old-timer standing in front of his 140,000-mile truck in the Toyota ad says: "Make sure you like the color."

Crystal ball?

Ivory only gains you bragging rights......... there are many other materials that are just as good or better.

You don't need it in a cue...........

I don't use it......

I was researching Narwhal tusks.

I did not realize how strictly they are controlled in some countries like the US, while properly-harvested and tagged tusks are perfectly legal in other countries like Gernany or China.

Even where legal, the harvest tag must always be present, or the presumption is that the Narwhal ivory is contraband.

Penalties are stiff for Narwhal. Up to 10 yrs.

I hope ivory does not go this way. How would you prove your pre-ban ivory is pre-ban?

Spend about $20,000 on lawyers and researchers. If the government decides to make you a priority, triple that amount and figure that five years of your life will be tied up in this.

But after you've spent the money -- and proved you didn't break the law -- you can't get your money back. It's the cost of proving your innocence. Welcome to the world. You're guilty until proven innocent.

And don't think "I'm small potatoes; they'd never go after me." Wrong, you're exactly the one they will go after. They'll avoid the big-time violators because they know they won't get anything from it. Look no further than the IRS threatening Derby City gamblers: major corporations evade umpteen millions in taxes but the IRS goes after guys winning $1,000 on a bet.

Well that is our choice and your opinion. We all know what those are worth. You make your cues how you want. I'll make mine how I want. Don't tell me what I need.
