ZAN tips must be REALLY good !!! WTF

WTF says it all. Supply and demand thing. That’s It. Not indicative of the true value.

i just put a Zan soft on my cue that I bought a few years ago. Good tip, but not clearly better than others I’ve used
 
Personally, I don't like Zan tips at all. When I was going through Mezz shafts, prior to buying my Vigus, I ended up removing them every time (Hybrid pro, Hybrid pro 2, Expro... tried just about every Mezz shaft). In fact, the ILC shaft I now use on my Mezz for Chinese-8 has a Searing tip, and I hate to say it with the bad press aimed that way (and for good reason from my readings here), it does play really well.
My other Mezz shafts I switched out for Longoni Fuji tips which I was gifted. They play lovely, but are also overpriced... I only have the ExPro shaft now, and it's a backup to the Vigus which is my 'forever' cue.
The Musashi Shaft I use on my Vigus right now came with a Moori Medium which, to its credit and my surprise, has played fantastic from the first hit.
I like Mike Wooldridge tips, and will go back to them when change is needed.
I heard good things about Thoroughbred tips from someone on the forum, but when I tried to add their rep on WeChat, he never accepted it....
 
I like to try out a lot of different tips, and I have a Zan Hybrid Max on a Revo 12.4 30". I don't play with this shaft often enough to make a fair judgement, but the tip feels very hard. I recently read on a forum that it takes these tips awhile to break in, but that they soften up quite a bit once they're used. I'm going to try to use this shaft more often to give the Zan tip a fair chance. I will say that having now played with many expensive tips, I often go back to Thoroughbred on many of my cues, even though I don't care at all about the cost.

I'd heard they were good. Like I said, tried adding the rep they had listed for Asia... to no avail. I think he is a forum user. So tried to DM the user of the same name.

Maybe depends on usage. If the ball only gets rolled around, this might work the manufactured compression loose - _might_...
More aggressive use might take a couple racks to break the initial shape and then settle into decaying normally. :D
 
Have had a Zan M on a Revo for a couple years. Looks almost new still and plays great. Have one Medium. left for replacement in my bag. Hard or impossible to find right now.

Bought some Medium SIB Cool Blues to tide me over for other shafts. They play good for being inexpensive.
 
Me neither, but a couple people in a Facebook group I'm in seemed to agree that it played better after being broken in. I've played a few dozen racks with it, and it feels very firm to me. Moreso than any other modern tip I've used.
