Here's a Custom Cue Cap made for April's APA Player of the Month, Ziggy Mikuzis. Ziggy's artical is on page 29 of the April Issue..
He's the proud owner of a Shurtz Cue, custom made for him by Cuemaker Bob Owen..
It features Yellow, Green and Red. The colors of the Lithuanian Flag.
Ziggy wanted these colors in his Custom Cue Cap along with Baltic Amber.
Zig's cue has Butterfly Points, but, me, being ButterFingers, couldn't do it. So, the next best thing I could think of was inlaying scalloped Ebony and Acrylic Amber Pieces between the Spliced Points of Ebony and that same Acrylic Amber..
Those stones on top each cap are real Amber Cabochans.. Bought from Rio Grande Jewlery Supply.. Silver Dots highLite the Acrylic Amber features..
But, all my work don't mean Sh#t. And I'll tell you why.
Each year, Ziggy Mikuzis organizes a "WISH UPON A STAR" event and this year ran a raffle for the "MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION" in his home town of Shorewood, Illinois. to raise money for children with Life Threatening Medical Conditions. How can you not love a guy who gives Whole Heartedly to Children who are less fortunate than we.. How Great is that!!!
And here I am, showing Cue Caps.. How weak..
