Wood cross members are going way back. Aluminum is more structurally sound and was an upgrade to the problems with wood. Most guy's don't check the tightness of the bolts because they can't see them.

I've often wondered how some cushions from the same manufacturer can last decades and others don't last five years before turning hard and brittle. I suspect it comes down to whoever mixed the rubber that day. Opinions?

Duct tape comes loose too. Months later I'll see tape hanging down. I've tried Gorilla tape, same thing. I've found it best to go heavy on the spray glue on the flap and underneath the table.

Also, older Valley's used a foam type mat in the ball dump that would eventually get divots in it and keep some balls from dumping. The fix is to scrape out the old and glue down a denser rubber mat. Suppliers sell them.
I got it from Cuestix but they discontinued it. :( I'll probably have to go with the Championship worsted cloth for more money. You have to be a business to buy from Cuestix.
