If you foul, but your opponent doesn't see it, should you call it on yourself?

I think you're seeing this the wrong way. What if you just slightly touch an object ball in a way your opponent couldn't notice it? You still will not call a foul but just sit down? And sometimes do you even sit down when you made a legal shot, wait for your opponent to take bih and then call...

    [8-Ball] What's the shot here?

This came up last night as we were playing scotch doubles with my teammates and as so often we had a minor argument about the correct shot: I played position for the 4 to the upper right corner, succeeded, and we ran out. One of my teammates didn't like the shot and insisted that safety was...

What Is Your Pool-Related Superstition ?

I'm not sure if it's a superstition exactly, but I can't have anything in my pockets while playing. If I do and I miss a shot I instantly blame the stuff in my pocket and remove it.

Name any other sport or game...

The problem is easily countered by alternate breaks. Sure it's cool you can run multiple racks, but alternate breaks just makes for a better game I think. Imagine a "winner's serve" rule in tennis. You could "run out" a game and that would be cool, but I think we can all agree that tennis is a...

    Titleist

I think it's Titlist without the e. It was a Brunswick one piece cue back in the 30's I think. Nowadays it's a popular blank cue for conversions.

    Which balls to choose?

Thanks for the replys. The stripes sure look better and better the more I think about this. It wasn't as clear to me on the table. My first pick was solids but after some debate with a couple friends I went with stripes. Didn't work out though...

    1-pocket partners match

The other team's 'captain' was Brian White. I love 1P but that match was pretty boring. They were playing so cautious, I bet due to the poor partners Gentile and White had to coach.

    Mark Selby

I think Robertson's ability stems from hard work and practice. If we're talking raw talent then I'd bring up names like Judd Trump, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Alex Higgins(R.I.P).

When are Alex and Shane going to play today?

I'm planning on getting the PPV for today but as I live on the other side of the ocean I would like to know when approx. it's going to end and when is it even starting? I can't seem to find this info. Also, is there going to be a DVD of this match for sale? Thanks!

Throw or clinging of the CB and OB.

Throw can be used as a tool in some cases but usually it's the english you want on the cueball and throw is just something that has to be compensated for. That being said I think throwing balls in is quite natural when you get the hang of it.

Tell me if I got this right.

You can alter the point where you need to hit the OB and at the same time alter the distance the CB is going to travel by throwing an OB in with side spin. Very useful even if you're not going to hit a rail.

How would you play this ??

Bank the one ball 3 rails to the end rail and stop the cueball. That way you only need to control the object ball.

When is it ok to "quit winner"?

It's not that at all. It's just pure gambling etiquette. Before I start playing I usually determine how long or how many sets I'm going to play. That's to prevent the other guy from feeling hit'n runned if I happen to win. In poker sitting on a table, winning an all-in on a coinflip and...
