Deflection question, explain how a stiffer CF shaft has less deflection.

I don’t have an old and new 11.8 Revo, but if the CB deflection is different, it is because one has more endmass than the other. It might also have more stiffness as a result (e.g., if the carbon fiber wall thickness is greater, making it stronger, stiffer, and heavier).
That's a theory but you need sophisticated experiments to prove this

Ebony and Maple, No Veneers

I posted pics recently of my ebony Dufferin cues. After mulling it over, I thought to grab some group pictures of the Dufferin cues along with a couple Mali cues that are also ebony and maple.

Curious to see what anybody else has in just ebony/maple spliced cues, no veneers. Please post pics! Maybe some customs?

I will start it out. I am no photographer. Just cell phone pics on a piece of fabric my daughter had. You can see there are some tiny finish dents on the butt sleeve of the second Mali, the bigger marks are smudges. The first one is darn near perfect, those are just smudges on it. I have two original Mali shafts for both of those cues.

Radial joint insall

Measure the center height on your lathe and figure out what steady would be best suited and check eBay and similar sites and buy a used metal lathe steady and modify it to work on your lathe. The scooter wheel ones will do more damage than they will help you.
Yeah the scooter one just got delivered, I’m not very impressed now that I’ve done some more research since it’s only adjustable by hand and not some sort of screw mechanism. I’m sure if I take a ton of time to get it centered it will do okay but it’s going to be a pain for sure.

Find an old and new 11.8 revo and you'll have proof. You're not always correct

Tascarella Cue

Outing this guy is always allowed if and when someone violates the Forum rues.
I already do it publicly and also by PM to the Mods, as well as the offending party.

The Mods only have so much time available and there is more to doing that job than
looking for bad threads. And how often should they patrol and read the threads and
all the posts for bad behavior or non-compliance with Forum rules?

If you don’t have the gumption to call someone out, send me a PM with the details.
I’ll check it out and if there’s been a violation of Forum rules, I’ll report the individual.
The only way for this website to flourish is relying on self-regulation by its members.

If he had posted multiple listings in the For Sale Section, the duplicate threads would
have been removed and the orig. poster would be warned by the Mods. No one would
need to out him but as I’ve acknowledged, I would. Know what? Do it to me if deserved.

Deflection question, explain how a stiffer CF shaft has less deflection.

If you think all my analyses, testing results, and demonstrations are wrong, please provide proof.

To be fair, sometimes it is difficult to separate the effects of stiffness and endmass. If you make a shaft bigger without taking measures to reduce the endmass, the end of the shaft will be stiffer and have more endmass, so you might think it is the increased stiffness that is causing more CB deflection, but it is actually the extra endmass primarily responsible.
