Yapp winning, with a foul! Just like Maradona making a goal with his hands :D

Sorry, not even close. He's had multiple high-profile screwups. But in all fairness, he does ref a lot and gets plenty of opportunities.
Then who is? His "high profile screwups" are all with Americans involved ... JJ, oh he should have told him the clock was running. SVB, oh the great Doctor RECREATED a video where he developed scenarios that proved the call was wrong, even though Dr. Dave did not make any conclusion of his own per my memory AND the fact that Marcel was in the "correct position" to view the shot and DID review the ACTUAL video before finalizing the call. Then you have Sky questioning a double hit call, where the commentators seemed to agree with Marcel. And then the Yapp incident, where the 9 ball did not move or the movement would have defied the laws of physics IF it happened.

All the Dr. Know opinions that the 9 ball moved, but no slow mo, mo jo or whatever showed the cue stick touching the 9 ball.

Wood over CF shaft options

McDermott's goal is not to make a magical zero deflection shaft. It is concentrating more on hit and sound. They use marketing gurus who tell McDermott that hit and sound are very important even if the design increases deflection more than others. Their advertising may, however, be less than clear on this.
As far as the bounce test, take a look at the Jewett/drdave video. Search, too, here for dead blow hammer.
One thing McDermott does is experiment. They don't do the same thing as everyone else. They are not on a race for low deflection. They have concentrated instead on a hit, sound, feel.
So you are saying they are not concentrating on deflection, but earlier you seemed to be critical of them because the design of their shaft doesn't reduce deflection.

I'd be willing to bet that Bob and Dave would both laugh at that 16 year old video. Based on that short clip, you should consider a piece of 1/2 conduit with a phenolic tip for efficiency.
We are now at a point where shaft materials are so light that they routinely add weight for balance. Why not suspend that weight to soften vibration? I'd have to pull one out to check, but I believe the steel weight in the Defy shaft is about 11 or 12 inches from the joint.

What would be a good two piece cue to make a break cue?

Definitely good advice to try tip changes before changing the cue.

But beyond that. I think it's best to have a dedicated cue, if possible.

With that said, many years ago I used my Joss for everything.
I used my old Dufferin and then my old Falcon for everything up until I joined a league a year ago. I wanted less wear and tear on my play cue was really my only reason. LOL

What would be a good two piece cue to make a break cue?

I would try a different tip on the 3 piece first. I have a Gulyassy break cue with a phenolic tip, I grew to hate that tip so I had a clear Bulletproof installed on it and it made a huge difference.

Thanks!
Surprisingly it does. The feel of the tip also gives you the confidence to hit off center if you want to unlike a phenolic tip.
That's my issue with the phenolic is I don;t like hitting off center at all with it. My cue has an Action quick release so now you got me thinking that I'll get a Bullet Proof or something else on it and if I like it then look for just an action one piece butt that's not part of a three piece to go with the shaft.
