Any NEW Meucci players?

Good looking cue. I sorta rotated my BMC casino cue out and have been playing with something else, but the Meucci isn’t going anywhere and could be called up from the practice squad. I like the Pro shaft and the quality of the cue is good. I know there was a post about recent customer service. I haven’t had to have repair work done and ordering an extension and joint protectors from them went fine. That was maybe 2 years ago tho, not 2 months. Anyway, I think you’ll enjoy the cue.

Advice needed

I now have the cue in my possession. Finish is actually in good shape for a 40 year old cue. Butt and shaft roll good on my pocket lathe. Wrap and shaft need a good cleaning. Still has original dry rotted bumper.
Put a new tip on...clean the ferrule a bit...install a new bumper and sell it.
If it's not beat to hell there is no reason to refinish it.
The original finish and wrap tells a story.

Any NEW Meucci players?

I have to say, I just picked up this brand new Gambler with the Jokers at my local MEUCCI dealer, and I love it. The fit, finish, and playability are excellent. I owned an early 2000s gambler 20+ years ago and it was hot garbage. I think the ferrule lasted a week before cracking after average play. The new MEUCCI team is doing a nice job. I love the feel of the pro shaft. Who else is using one of the new Meucci’s for their playing cue?

Breaking from the head spot

IMHO, the CB should break from the headspot when using a template rack (one on the footspot). Other racked balls are supposed to be random. If you suspect your opponent of intentionally manipulating the order, you should be allowed to insist on re-racking until satisfied otherwise (?). Of course, some might abuse that privilege, attempting a favorable order eventually. The only solution would be a rule change, setting the order of every ball (or at least the 2). Also, shouldn’t using a template eliminate the need to closely inspect the rack (?).
