Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

I think one good comparison between the two is the process of starting either. With pool, a beginner will normally get the hang of stroking the cue and sending the cue ball toward the object ball. Success is when the ball goes in the intended pocket. With golf, success for a beginner is getting decent contact on the ball regardless of where it goes. That goal, solid contact with the ball stays with you as long as you golf. You'll often hear golfers say, I scored well, hit the ball like crap.
Funny thing is, you can hit the ball like crap most of the round but the couple times you flush it have you coming back the next day.
Hitting the cueball maybe, but actually having even an amateur stroke.......probably not.

Help identify model

Does anyone know what model this Schon cue is? I bought it from an older gent in 50s or 60s around 2018 in Dallas. He had over 100 cues in his collection. He said it should be Runde era. It has 4 points in and I'm guessing from its age that those are ivory inlays. And in the grip, it has 6 points of inlay. Also, at the other side of the Schon stamp, there is a #2 stamped on it. Its got an old Schon stamp on the shaft. That's about it for the details. Any input would help, thinking of selling on ebay.

Kamui

Totally agree. My opinion on Ultraskin is that, just an opinion. I believe there is a best tip and best ferrule. But that's my opinion as well.
There is no best tip only the best tip for you, just like cue weights and lengths, SVB I believe is 6'4" and Justin Bergman is 5'9" I believe, my friend Rod was clocked at SBE at 28mph break speed, my fastest was almost 14 mph, the point is you have to tailor your gear to what works for YOU, there are many ways to help minimize your weaknesses and maximize your strengths, try adding or removing weight from your cue, different tips, even cue tip shape will make a dramatic difference, I don't know if you are using CF, I play Becue cues, they are full CF butt and shaft, it transfers energy from your stroke better than any cue I've ever played with, it took me awhile but I have found a cue and tip makes me feel the most comfortable when I play🙂

Whatever happened to BUCKTOOTH ?

its been awhile but i gambled with him over a couple of days and he just wasn't his old self. he was now what he wanted those to be when he played them. all he could have gotten was worse since the years past when i got him. when old enough it is too tough to win most times.
happens to the best of us.

he definitely wasn't one of the nice guys, or one to do any business with if you wanted anything back. but he was part of the pool world and made it wonderful unless you were some kind of idiot and couldn't understand people and how they think.
got a big money break from paul in detroit selling wares. that really set him up.

tooth played really good when at his best in all games and was super smart at making a game. most under rated his play so they had no chance at all.
always drew a crowd even more than ronnie. no contest there.
one of the few that stood up and bet his own money and plenty of it.
