Thorpe blasts ‘one of the dumbest rules’ after becoming ineligible for USA Mosconi Cup team

he did blame his troubles on himself. so dont be hard on him. he acknowledged he wasn't paying attention to the details and rules, so it got him.

what he did not understand was the total package. sure he couldn't justify going to a few tournaments as those were not financially right for him.
and normally shouldn't

but now by missing out on the mosconi, he misses out on that money and future benefits that would come from playing in it , and certainly if we happened to win.

Thorpe blasts ‘one of the dumbest rules’ after becoming ineligible for USA Mosconi Cup team

Billy took it pretty well in the main body of text. A lot of people have done a lot worse. The scare heads made it seem like his comments had been far more. Perhaps some weren't quoted.

I missed an end of the year invitational because I fell one event shy. The rules were published, no whine coming. I had to laugh, at least to myself. The man running things was verbally tiptoeing when telling me I wouldn't be able to shoot the championship. I told him I hadn't expected to. Then he asked if I would come out and help run things! I did, no hard feelings for the rules being enforced.

I see many pool players ignoring pre-event meetings and rules printed on flyers. Same ol' story but I feel these people that don't bother to learn the rules shouldn't bother to complain.

Hu

Ascension Carbon Fiber shaft.

When you say that your high performance model is low deflection, obviously there is measurement units for that, but were does it stands against the known brands? have you tested it?

really shouldn't be a big problem to standardize this whole low deflection thing in testing and measurements. I guess it's not the manufacturers best interest to actually get a measurable spec. Predator used to do it when there was no competition...
We had someone independently send out unmarked shafts out to have good players test them with no knowledge about them and received feedback and comparisons. This way it is as unbiased as possible. No shaft name, no manufacturer name, no one standing over their shoulder. Just blind feedback. Those shafts were given back to us and adjustments were made along the way to the shafts construction. More were sent out and brought back to make more changes. Once we settled on our construction techniques. Other shafts were sent back out to get feedback on the final shafts.
