Info on old cue

Your right on all that ShootingArts, and I didn't expect to have a collectors item , but it stick is an oddball that I wanted info on. The joint was repaired after I broke it , so at least half of joint isnt original. The hemp string i put on after the original fell off. I did play with this cue 30 years ago and its decent. Weights 20 0z but is super front heavy so I guess it ' feels' light to me. Ill probably fix the wrap when I figure that out and yes, back to being a display piece it will go. 🙂

Some Birdseye in the maple is just dumb luck, like some have some tiger striping. It's not an outstanding piece of Birdseye.

The shaft splices were common.

The joint was an early red flag for me. Why have a piloted joint and the other construction gives the joint no room to self align. The thread of the wrap looks oversized and soft. It doesn't look like it has ever been ironed. The wood looks like it has been turned the wrong direction from an original build.

The weight stamped into the wood seems odd for a nice cue, and the weight seems like it doesn't fit the stick. Nineteen ounces isn't likely to be perceived as light by most people.

It looks like something that was put together to give a grandson to play with. Nothing wrong with that but it reminds me of some experiments of mine that never met the light of day!

If the cue plays fine I would play with it, if not it gets a place of honor in the rack. It will never be a collectors item but may have a lot of personal value.

He went out in the 64th round in Florida, worst Shane did was 32nd in Phoenix. If he wins Phoenix, then it would be pretty much a toss up. But the fact that he beat Shane in Yuma does give him a leg up. Although Phoenix was smaller than Florida and not technically a major while Florida and Yuma were.

Boyes was talking about stats on the broadcast and seemed to imply more was coming. We’ll see. Want me to check WNT or Matchroom more? Let me check player stats, rack differentials, won-loss records, head to head records, etc. WNT and Predator sick on stats.
