A.E Schmidt tables

At the prices they have listed not sure why anyone would want an A.E. Schmidt table when for about the same price you could have a new Diamond. Am I missing something here?

I remember years ago I had a table that was called a E.A. Burgin table. A guy from Murfreesboro, TN named Skip Burgin made the tables. Haven't heard a word about Burgin tables for nearly 25 years now.

AE Schmidt was founded 1859?
I think they're success back then made Brunswick to St Louis. Why else?

The company today is just a small fraction of where they were, but all the knowledge and all their blueprints are still in their posession. I'm sure if someone wanted a Collosus, they would build one..

I've gone into their nearly original factory on Sidney St. several times. Today's operation is a small fraction of yesteryear, but still family and still a lot of manual hand work.

Table legs are imported for sure.

Rails & Frame are done in house.

Brunswick is made in China with similar prices to you and me.

Pro pool without a shot clock

there are a few of them that can convert to a faster speed with the shot clock (like ralf) but most of these slow players are winning their matches on the side tables, where they can take all the time they want. i wonder if shot clock on all tables would weed out these players
It would, and like I said earlier, unmanned shot clocks can't be too far away in the future, or that complicated to create.

Predator Fanboys

Predator is one of the only brands I see actually detailing the pool cues with diagrams, schematics, blue prints, and explaining all the construction that you can't see from the surface. Especially when it comes to the butt. On other brands it can be difficult to even know what kind of inlays there are or if its just a graphic. I do see some other brands catching up though, like McDermott. I think others will eventually realize they can't just say things like "This cue is a breath of fresh air" and slap a $1500 price tag on it.
Do pool cues really need schematics, blueprints and tech 3D videos? I'm not saying they needed all the flowery poetic prose either. What they need is physical stores with tables in, where you can go and hit a ball and decide if you like it... But such a thing as a physical store is almost ludicrous in this age of 'TeChNoLoGy' - instead we have people who buy on the back of tech jargon, nonsense science words, and then try to justify their purchase by exclaiming the cue is better than anything they've ever tried before...
