How To Play This Shot

Had this spread earlier today. The CB is almost on the rail and it would extremely difficult to try and use inside english to hold the 1B for the corner next to it. Plus the 8B blocks the far corner.

If you are not comfortable with using high outside to come around 2-3 cushions for either shape on the 2 or running in to the 2 and seeing what you get, then decide if you want to play the safe on the 1 ball or make the 1 leaving you near the end cushion then playing the safe on the 2.

In my opinion, playing the safe on the 1 is easier - at a very soft pace, just slightly overcut the 1 ball just passed the side pocket with outside spin, leaving the 1 ball close to the side cushion beyond the side pocket with the cue ball likely buried either behind the 5 ball and/or the 7 ball, near the end cushion.

Predator Men's 10 Ball JAX

Just tuning in. Boring as hell. IDK what it is, I'm a diehard and can't watch.

Good pairing too the two Ouchans vs Tkach and Loukatos. All 4 players look like bangers, missing tons of shots.
I've seen loads of uncharacteristic misses today. Are these Apex tables really playing this tight? I know they're 4.25 and it's humid, but jeez.

Tougher tables did not help USA pros for 20 years

The poolroom slump seems to be coming to an end with more new rooms opening in the last year then in the prior ten years. For the naysayers it can be done and you don't have to own the building. There is lots of vacant space in industrial areas, and it's a buyers/renters market. You don't have to be on a main street! Build it and they will come!

There are beautiful and successful poolrooms operating all over the country. Maybe not nearly as many as before, but they are out there. And there's room for more. If I was a younger man I would do it again right now! The magic formula is no different than before. Give the people what they want for a fair price and they will come. Good music, sports on TV, nice pool tables, some other games like foosball, darts etc., good pizza and other finger food, beer and wine is fine. Work hard, make money. What's wrong with that?

Nobody wants to stay cooped up in their house playing video games and watching netflix day and night. Give them a nice place to go and have a good time, then watch what happens.

One more thing that I noticed in my previous rooms, where I had both big tables and barboxes. Even amateurs preferred playing on the real pool tables. The barboxes were more for the beer drinkers and for league players.
I'm hoping you're right, but in MSP the last pool hall to open closed the same summer.

As long as pool doesn't go the way of bowling where a single corp buys out every venue (🖕 Bowlero) then turns it into an "entertainment" venue and prices skyrocket. I get that bowling centers are far more maintenance and space constrained, but i'm sure some would try if the market was there...

My new player 2001 Nitti!

I owned the cue that this thread is about and it plays great, it’s one of the prettiest cues I’ve owned and I was a cue dealer ( Colby Cues) and I built cues with Eric Niemera (Sierra cues) for a short time. That Nitti is a monster Cue that any maker or critic will be very complimentary of. I’ve owned thousands of cues it is in the top 6-7 lifetime of what I have had in the class of Gus Szamboti, reminds me of a Kersonbrock in its play and Mike Bender or Peterson in its point work. I haven’t owned a Nitti I didn’t like but that one stood out among them

In the side with right follow (with maybe some adjustment for swerve) to go 2-3 rails around the 5/9 for the 2.
