Ebony and Maple, No Veneers

Great looking cues, and nice photos. I really love that series of Mali Cues. Green label Malis like yours are known as the M-series and they were produced, from 1984-1985 and they are beautiful playing cues. I have bought and sold many of them overs, like you I love them, the craftsmanship in these cues was fantastic at the time, and they were made in the United States at the Mali Factory. The Mali factory in the United States was open from 1961 until 2001, all cues after 2001 are Chinese imports, and they are unfortunately poor quality, unlike your cues.

Here is the my favorite M Model, it is a M-15 the most expensive cue the came out of the M-series like your cues

Here are some very nice ones of the same series with inlay on EBay.

1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1677176451...d=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1.

2. This cue was the first cue in the series. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3762714907...d=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1
Nice.
I have an M-15.

I have almost the entire M-series, with all my Guns in air-condition and heated storage. I don't know if they are a AZB member or not, if I see cues you may like on eBay and the prices are not ridiculous I will post them for you. The cue with the mother pearl in the butt, is nice looking cue, I really like the design. I also wouldn't take your Joss out on your Harley, and those Malis are perfect carry for rides
Thanks. I watch ebay but miss stuff. A couple incredible deals went by me that are still killing me.

I have been focusing on late 60s to early 70s National and Gandy cues. If you search you'll find I have posted some. I have a post in the wanted section with my inventory and wanted list. I am trying to fill the 10 cue Gandy catalog. Im half way there with several multiples.

Also early McDermott, Murrey, Early Viking, Karl Mayer, Joss, Fedunka, and others. Not Meucci.

I do like the odd and obscure too.

Sometimes buy, sometimes just research. I have folders on my PC with thousands of pictures.

I recently hauled out my collection. It was in storage for more than 5 years. Still working on inventory and pictures. I lost some records when changing computers.

CIT, SIT, Deflection aim adjustments: At the object ball vs at the pocket?

The absolutely best thing you can do is use center ball hit as often as possible. When, I say center ball I speaking about dead Center, Top and Bottom. This will minimize swerve and cue ball spin so long as you go no further than a half a tip off center. Most, people don’t realize that top English - follow and Bottom English-draw will pick up spin after contact with a ball of a rail, dead center ball doesn’t really react this way.

This also is very important when using English to spin the cue ball. If you go no further than half a tip off center there is only a small amount of spin and curve to compensate for. If you go more than a half tip off center you must compensate for the curve between the object ball and cue ball.
If you're worried about not being able to compensate for squirt when using more than a half tip off center, then pool isn't the game for you.

The pros use as much side spin as needed. The late great Buddy Hall told me, "You have to be able to play all over the cue ball." Does that sound like no more than a half-tip off center to you?

Players have different styles of playing. Efren for example, plays all over the cue ball because he prefers to spin the ball into position. He seems to have adapted pretty well to squirt issues, don't you think?

Other players prefer to punch or stun the cue ball whenever possible. Different style of play. But all of them know how to play all over the cue ball.

Why limit players with advice like that?

Cool. I have a few fancier green labels, also gold, and silver. I have some older 1960s and early 1970s Mali cues too, with the Mali River label. I usually let those early ones go to a buddy that collects early Mali.

I think that first one you posted is listed by an AZB member.

I don't take my Joss on my Harley. If I'm going to shoot pool on my bike, it's a 1982 Mali in the case. Beautiful cue. Great player. Minty, not a scratch on it.

Little custom butt-cap work for a friend

Are you going to match the ring on the CF shaft ?
Haha thanks for the kind words and support.

Not sure if I care to match the ring on the cf shaft yet. First time building a shaft and just want to get it together minimally and see how it plays because I know I am going to want to tweak a bunch of things before I call it good.

If it's not a total crash and burn by the end, I'll throw the cosmetics at it like matching rings to the ferrule.
