why wouldn't it be better to have 1.5 inches of stretch on both sides instead of 3 on one?
Hmmm - that makes sense
I reckon stretching 1.5" on both sides as opposed to 3" on 1 side will yield different results.

why put a stop sign in the middle of the table, isn't the cloth made in a roll running in length. I think there are problems with this method.

The purpose of this thread was to see what the spec is and no one has yet to tell me what simonis says. If Glen is right about the way it should be put on then Simonis should have his instructions on their website and he should get credit for them.

What I don't understand is how I am always wrong and its obvious that I have put thought into my ideas and methods. I may not be the best but I keep getting better every day.

That statement makes about as much sence as tits on a boar hog:rolleyes:
Hey it's the new method.
You glue the cloth down the center of the table then stretch 1.5" to each side.
Come on man, get with the program.

why is that
Because you can't stretch cloth unless it's first anchored some place...like on one side of the slate first. Are you proposing to ANCHOR the cloth in the middle of the slate?..no...I bet you're thinking about some kind of device that mounts to both sides of the slate so you can stretch it 1 1/2" on one roller...then crank the other side roller 1 1/2" inches...right?...Look, a 3" stretch is a 3" stretch...I don't care how you do it. But here's something to think about when recovering 9ft tables with 78" wide Simonis....if you take the first 2 long rips off for rail cloth...then split the cloth the way you're talking about installing it....guess what?...you just lost the 2 rail cloths off the side of the slate...did you think about that?

Glen

not only have I thought about it, I have done it and I take my 18 inches off everytime before I start reagrdless of which method I choose to use that day..
