Best female one pocket player?

Does anyone know who the best female one pocket player is? I don't hear much about women playing one pocket. The only ones I've heard of are Karen Corr but I don't know how much she plays it, and I saw Jeanette playing it about 10 years ago, she seemed fairly decent at it but certainly not great. I was just wondering how much weight they would need from top players. From what I saw of Jeanette she looked like she would need something like 10-6 or 11-6 from Gabe or Scott Frost, but She may have improved since then.

Monica plays a good game of 1-hole. There are several more of them on the WPBA tour that play it well. Johnnyt

I once saw Ming Ng playing one pocket, not for money or anything. She played....um not well. She could probably get serious weight from top players, like 12-5 at least, Efren would probably give her 13-5 and the breaks and rob her.

None play excellent - Karen, Jeanette, Monica, and of the previous generation, Vivian V. all play halfway decent....as for the spot that you thought they would need from the likes of Scott or Gabe, they might need a little bit more than that - like maybe about 12-6.

Actually I figured it should be more like 12-6, but I thought if I said that then everyone would jump on my case saying Im not respecting the women players blah blah.

The OP asked about the best female one pocket players. Your post doesn't contribute anything. So that isn't her game. Since you say she wasn't playing for money, maybe someone was teaching her some one pocket. Maybe she was just trying the game. Maybe she was just practising something new. I guess you're great at one pocket, 9-ball, 10-ball, banks, 8-ball, three cushion, and snooker.

Jeanette Lee cashed in the Derby City one pocket event in January. Her banking skills are obviously solid, given that she beat Scott Frost in the bank pool event.

From the old days <laughin> Gereldine Titcomb played pretty sporty but the best woman One Pocket player I seen was a woman named Linda Hoffman from Tx. She won a couple BCA womens titles back in the day. From the new school...Im sure with a coach they would all look flawless, lol.

Sarah Rousey and Alice Rim are the only 2 that I have seen and I would play them both even. Sarah has a real good game IMO and Alice is a great shot maker.

Excuse me Mr. Ghost sir, but would you play Jeanette, Vivian or Monica One Pocket even? I'm just curious, because I don't think I have to like it against these three. ;)

Ming and I used to practice One Pocket occasionally, but truth be known she never really grasped the strategy of the game. At 9-Ball, it was an entirely different story. She and I would go at it for hours on end, fighting tooth and nail (yes, even arguing about good hits etc.) to see who could beat the other. We sometimes played three or four Races To Nine back to back. Now that's a lot of pool. When we were both playing our best, it was a pretty even game.

A couple of times, Ming and I gambled at One Pocket playing partners, but always with the stipulation that I could coach her. If I could tell her what to shoot, she had no problem executing the shot.

Yes I would - and preferably in the reverse order of how you listed them....and please don't call me Mr. or sir - it makes me nervous/scares me.

The only female that i would nominate is probably Karen Corr.

Only since when she first came here, she befriended Petey Fusco, and has played out of his room since that time.

Many people have come through over the years, and matched up with either of them, and i know that he has helped her with her one pocket game.

I know enough people that have played her, and she plays ok, but she's not going to really outperform any of the male one pocket specialists or shortstops.

Since she's been around Fusco, she has participated in, and watched MANY one pocket sessions, and she has by far, the biggest knowledge base about the game IMO, and right there, that's half the battle.
She's going to understand shots and situations better and have some forsight into the future investment of some shots as a result.

If i were to bet on any woman vs all the other women, it would have to be Karen.

Yeah, Karen plays pretty good - imo, I think it's about a push between Karen and Jeanette....At the DCC I watched some of Jeanette's matches, and I watched Karen's match against Oscar Dominguez - she battled Oscar fairly well.

I dunno about JL's knowledge base.
I really don't know if the uptable game would fry her brain or not.

I don't know if JL even has the capability to take a high end scratch.

But neither of them is going to win against a decent guy.
They might compete, but if it comes down to knowledge and moves in an uptable game and doesn't rely on running balls, i suspect that they will falter first.

Your not going to see either of them do a lot of damage when everything's uptable.

Yes sir! Oops, I mean no sir! No, that's wrong too. How about Master Ghost?

Alice Rim, I havent heard her name in a while. Is she still in Atlanta area? Tell her a pilot from Detroit says hi.

Sarah Rousey also plays a good game of 1 pocket and Kim Vergottini.

I watched Sarah play 1 pocket under extremely difficult circumstances and handled it pretty well.

She was playing for like $300 per game and the deal was that Lil John was coaching her on every shot. If you have never tied this, well, it just ain't easy at all. She lost, but held up her end very well.

THe guy she was playing plays the game well, but, $300 per game was way out of his comfort zone and he near shook out of his shoes. It was pretty funny. It was like one couldnn't and one wouldn't.

Vivian plays fair and that's about it.
