These are two players that I used to love watch play, they seem like they have so much natural ability and yet they never come close to pulling off a major event. Why is this exactly? I've been waiting for Tiffany Nelson to win a major for 15 years and she seems to freeze up when she starts to go far in a major event. Is it just nerves? I mean, you see her practicing and she looks invincible, same with Line Kjoersvik and Holly Sholes.

I see Monica Webb has had quite a bit of success with a major win and many top 3 finishes and not to take anything away from her but I think Line, Tiffany and Holly have a lot more natural ability than her. So is Monica just tougher mentally? I remember over 10 years ago a male pro player told me Tiffany should already be winning these WPBA events but she just can't seem to pull it altogether. Any thoughts?

Monica is a better player than the other three hands down. I haven't watched Line that much, but I believe she is the best of the three. Johnnyt

Monica is, in my opinion, a bit more skilled than Line and Tiffany, who have both been top-ten-seeded WPBA players in the past, and much more skiilled than Hollly who, to my recollection, has never enjoyed a high ranking on the WPBA tour. To be honest, I think they are all solid players and they are all mentally strong.

Men frequently and routinely underestimate just how difficult it is to win WPBA titles. Did you realize that from 2000-07, the first eight WPBA seasons in which the tour featured both Allison and Karen, no player other than Karen Corr or Allison Fisher ever won two WPBA events in a single season? Kelly Fisher changed that last year, but any cinderella aspirning to win a title in 2009 will have to beata field including A Fisher, K Corr, K Fisher, X Pan, GY Kim, J Ouschan, M Webb and J Lee. That's a pretty tall order.

Tiffany Nelson has always been one of my favorite players to watch. She can muscle that cue ball around like the guys. My guess, a few of the women do have full-time jobs or are students or what not and don't have the time to put into the game that others have.

Michelle Rakin and Melissa Herndon are also two that are fun to watch.

I would like to see Tiffany grab a major as well. She is from Madawska Maine & that is up there. I remember her back when I went to college up there at UMPI she must have been around 13 kicking around the pool rooms at tournaments. Her dad Dick I believe his name is has schooled her well at a young age. Her & her family both are class acts. I believe her day will come... I agree she has a lot of raw talent and wish her all the best.

I'm also amazed that Tiffany hasn't knocked off a few majors already. I know that when she was just 13 years old she made it to the finals of a wpba tour stop and lost. I really think that if she had won it she would have had the confidence to win more titles after that. She's an amazing talent but I think the pressure does get to her, you can see the way she plays tight and stiff in a big event, yet plays really loose and natural in practice.

Line Kjoersvick is another great player, she has run over 100 balls in 14.1, I can't think of many women that have done that. She clearly has the talent but I think once you get to that level of play it's mental.

I didn't realize she made it to a final at 13. I can see how that could have an effect on her. I think that's what happened to Dennis Hatch, he made it to the final of the 1991 U.S. Open at a very young age and lost a close match to Buddy Hall. Who knows what would have happened if he'd won? He might've gone on a rampage.

Line came awfully close considering she is on the comeback trail after having been away
for a few yrs finishing her best ever on th WPBA (3rd place) - I believe we will see more of her on ESPN this yr and I believe she is going to get gold in Euro EPC 2009.
I read on another Forum she re-located to Sweden but don't know how accurate that is.
